I have never really understood how this comic got so popular. It’s always felt like an SNL skit that has gone on too long. The shtick was kind of funny 2 or 3 times but it got old to me quickly. One of those things where I just felt like I could start writing the jokes immediately.
Not knocking those of you who enjoy it. It’s just always surprised me how popular it is. I’ve enjoyed a lot of web comics and this is the only one that’s really made me scratch my head
Well at least it’s not Garfield
But Garfield gave us imsorryjon
Different folks different strokes. I don’t think there’s much to gain from analyzing why something may or may not make you laugh.
I feel the same way about pizzacakecomics. Not once has it made me laugh personally, but judging by upvotes a ton of people like it
I think he could’ve touched more weird things we humanoids do that do feel alien to us if we step aside and really think about them.
I agree with everything you said, yet I still enjoy these comics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I recommend you to actually do write jokes on your own, (simple) creativity like this can feel really great.
Oh! Calluses. My first read was “if you repeat the action enough you’ll cause numbing nerve damage,” which has nothing to do with hardening.
I mean, there’s also nerve damage. When I practiced martial arts, it was considered a good thing when your knuckles and arms suffered enough trauma that there was less pain. 🤷♂️
Is there actual nerve damage or your nervous system changing your perception of pain?
