1·2 days agoThe best way to feel better isn’t by trying to cheer myself up but just exist in the current emotion and go on it’s way.
I’ll usually turn in for the night early, listen to some music by myself and rest until I want to actually sleep.

But yeah it’s nice to see people encouraged to do in house innovation! The military can have a ton of red tape and people that would rather have you embrace the suck than reduce the suck because it’s less work (for them). Imagine the BMV running everything and you get the idea lol

It can be hard to find fediverse instances and content inside of them. They are working to make things easier to search for on Mastadon. With a little work it could be used with (and between) many things on the fediverse!
The final attack is ramming into the enemy doing massive damage and then the ship sinks fading out of the battle
2·6 days agoIf seen like an ordinary job Enlisted are “workers” and Officers are “leaders” and NCOs lead sections of enlisted under their control. Kind of like middle management.
NCOs don’t do big picture mission planning, lead a group of tanks, etc but they do execute the mission and they usually know what a good plan looks like. They can help a new officer understand how things will go and avoid rookie mistakes. Once the officer gets experience NCOs will still be there to advise them of course.
It’s like teaching someone how to drive. When they are new you ride along to help them learn, but ultimately they the one actually behind the wheel and you are a passenger.

The AI’s phone screen design is…interesting
The nice slick interface of Organic Maps makes me wish it loaded and zoomed smoother. But yeah the things you can do in OSMand as a fully offline app is incredible once it’s set up how you want it.
