I think they have top of the shelf specialists, hardware, etc and that naturally upholds their frightening monopoly. I think it would last years and years with the momentum it has and I don’t know what can surely kill it for good. I think it’d die off only if the format of reddit itself would get too old and no new users would join, older ones leaving it.
As for forums, I joined way later than you, and unsurprisingly tech and warez are what makes me visit them times and times again. Our 4pda.ru and rutracker.org are my go toes for mobile and general torrenting stuff, and I see european bros using them too. This architecture of conversations is just great for object-oriented discussion, may it be an app, a phone model, a select upload or what.
Sounding in unison to you, I’d say if you want to find stuff, old platforms are the best. The problem is that new users most of us don’t know exactly what we want while opening the feed fo scroll. We want content from select quality providers, whatever it is. It is a completely different request that gets answered by different models of feed seeding. It’s a cable TV to a set of VHS. And I want for both incompatible models to exist, because they both serve a different purpose.

The article is too short to draw any conclusion but in that framing from an affected party it sounds shitty. I feel like we only see the ending to a long story, like a mole hunt in their ranks or whatever. The quoted guy supposes they did so because company’s workers may have an access to documents of their clients and I’d call that bullshit for, like, how it even works and why would anyone allow it?
I have a low-to-mid income in Russia and I pay more taxes (converted into dollars) directly from my income each year while considering a full plate meal for two at KFC is a bit too fancy for my family budget to have it once a week. That’s just for scale.
Isn’t there a lot of dirt on them? Starting with pushing for more strict laws against foreign influence and funding, covert fascism, and then dragging them (and anybody else akin to them) through courts until they are non-existent is how it should have been done a long time ago imho. Just a cold, inorganic machine of beaurocracy grinding them into a ground meat without any possible objection due to biases.

The September deadline is probably picked because there’d be an obligatory recruitment season after that, and being a recruit in training isn’t safe like it was before. By their own law, they can’t deploy these trainees outside the border, and that’s one thing that makes parents calm, but now it gets even more complicated.

Russian edu is kinda conflicted due to the push of leaving Microsoft (they stopped licensing openly by now) to alternatives, that’s not going well with anyone but IT students I guess. But if these institutions would switch, they’d pick some closed down and paid wreck like Astra Linux. Going from bad to worse.
Okay, so I tried a couple of accessoriea and for me the holder on the belt did it.

My holder has a little loop for a carabine (to put it onto a neck strip?) as well as vertical and horizontal loops that can secure it onto your belt either way. Unlike legs and hands, my ass doesn’t move that much, so if a phone fits the holder, you won’t feel it moving by itself.
Of vertical and horizontal placements I’ve chosen horizontal on my side. I pick my phone with my hand going from my side to my crotch. It proved to be more natural than lifting it up, and unlike vertical placed phone it doesn’t hit your legs and stomack and also wobble even less.
Downsides are that it can look like you are taking up a gun if you are in the US and also you’d need to wear a t-shirt tucked under your belt for it not to get into your way. A jacket can go over such holder with no problem, but everything tight should go behind it.
