432·9 months agoWow, Microsoft are always so innovative! I never thought that the Win11 taskbar could get any shittier, but somehow they managed it. It’s great to see those thousands of engineers being put to good use.
15·9 months agoCan’t we just force heavy taxation for the amount of plastics in products? That would force producers to look at alternatives to plastic for packaging.
I am always in shock when I buy some product and it has layers and layers of thick plastic to give the impression of some premium product. And sometimes I don’t even have an alternative product to buy to avoid it since I only have 2 supermarkets in my area.

4·9 months agoYes, I gave her the benefit of the doubt as well, but framing it as “we were the gatekeepers” and seeming annoyed that they have to be more transparent about their process is an… interesting way of presenting the argument.
I didn’t find the full context for the video, but I don’t think she was talking about the problem of misinformation. Even if they have credible sources that 99% of experts agree on and a transparent process, misinformation will still be spread (see climate change denial). So I think that’s a different problem entirely.
Mate, read the room. Tone deaf posts like this are a good reason why people hate vegans. And this is coming from a fellow vegan. Palestine isn’t going to avoid famine by switching to vegan now; that’s completely insane! And it would still be starving even it was 100% vegan, due to, you know, a fucking genocide happening.
Yeah, I never understood the point of these nofap movements if you just substitute it with some other addiction like binge watching or doomscrolling social media. It seems like treating a symptom instead of a disease. If you fill your life with fulfilling interactions with people, hobbies and passions, you won’t even have the time for harmful addictions.

How about not supplying weapons for a genocide? Or not vetoing resolutions for ceasefire? If the USA was neutral in this conflict your statement would be true, but it’s obviously not.
And going back to the Houthi attacks:

The US with all its western lapdogs could provide basic humanitarian aid to a people being genocided, instead of providing support for an illegal blockade, and the attacks would end. It seems like a win win, no brainer decision for anyone who isn’t a senile imperialistic liberal.
