That was indeed it. Thanks for the heads up!

This thread does not even appear in the Lemmy World Support community for me. What is going on here?

I don’t know about any guide I can point to, but you can start over on the USB stick by recreating the partition table (msdos) and partition (fat32). I recommend using gparted for things like that if you are unfamiliar with the process. This ensures the USB is correctly setup to boot from.
What I would do:
Wipe USB stick.
Recreate Partition table and partition on USB.
Check Mint image integrity.
Rewrite USB with image.
Try booting from it again.

Beautiful flowers, but horribly invasive in the right climate!

100% processed food, way too many carbs. Not healthy at all.
Cover/remove any brand name labels. Duct tape and spray paint are ugly. Use them.
Lock it to something solid. Use multiple, high quality locks if you can. Lock it where there is video surveillance if possible. Never leave it long. Never ever leave it outside overnight.
Greetings from Berlin, where more than 25,000 bikes are stolen each year. That’s 70 per day, or 3 per hour.
Despite following my own advise above as best I could, I have lost 3 bikes in the last 20 years. I still ride a bike everywhere though, 100% of the time, averaging over 5000 km a year.
Get out there and explore your city!
Edited to add, a good lock is going to cost a lot more than a standard one, and will easily weigh over 5kg.
I like to make grenadine. You can also peel and freeze edible parts for later use.
Thank you for the info! I appreciate it.

Why and how has this link domain been edited when the comment doesn’t indicate any edit has been made? Elsewhere in the thread OP has two other links which have obviously been edited in the exact same manner, but the comment also shows no edit has been made.
Is this some kind of domain ban enforcement at the server level?

Not an alternative, but a good read nonetheless:

I have made voice calls with this in VirtualBox from a Linux host. Lacking support for VBoxGuestAdditions, it is not a great general solution, as you cannot easily bridge the gap between host/guest, however.
I have not tested QEMU.
A great read. My favorite quote:
“You will become way less concerned with what other people think of you when you realize how seldom they do.” ― David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest
The decisions you make are one thing. The way you keep handling them so incredibly poorly is quite another.
