That money can go into paying for free healthcare and education, the IRS to make sure all the other parasites pay their due(every dollar put into that organization leads to a positive return), and a host of other things that end up providing a huge gain for people. None of that is to mention that of the 86mil customers there are many who don’t need the extra money so we can push more down to the poorer of the bunch.

He said “but not insignificant”. That said, $185/mo($370/2) for something you get hot and fresh every single day should not be a big deal. The economy doesn’t function if little purchases can’t be made and it’s not like people are asking for a new pony every week. If you wanna be frugal to afford something else then that should be your choice and not just the bare minimum to be able to afford rent because your employer won’t pay you.

Look if we can’t even buy a coffee then what is honestly the fucking point? The good people would probably either not want to waste their time hurting people or they would get tired of it very quickly(we ain’t all perfect). To be honest I think the hell I would want for these people would be a forced injection of critical thinking skills and empathy, with mandatory classes on all of the harm they did, so they could ultimately be their own punishment. At that point the most participation I would want would be my turn explaining how they people hurt me and the people I care about.

A working person who’s in their career should be able to afford more than a one bedroom apartment. That second room could be for hobbies, a work-from-home office, a guest bedroom, a library, whatever. And that’s just in an ideal situation but what if they’re a single parent(could be for any reason including something completely unavoidable like their spouse passing away for some reason) who needs a room for their child? And while I’m on about it, those people are a couple who would share a bedroom so then what? Pretty much every single person needs personal space away from their partner from time to time and the shared bedroom ain’t it.

Rich people don’t need boats or luxury vehicles yet they always seem to find excuses for that but having a 2bd apartment is considered irresponsible spending and that’s horseshit. It’s not the employee’s job to debase themselves in every aspect of their lives so someone who clearly can’t manage a business effectively can pretend they have any skill in doing so.

Worse, actually. My net at $58,000CAD got me $3,600/mo. If I wanted a simple 2bd today it would be now two thirds of my take-home. The friend who rents my guest bedroom has become my roommate over the last few months as they’ve been unable to find a place that’s even vaguely reasonable.
