Fake news pa karamihan ng mga pinagsasabi, lmaooo.
Nakalagay na nga sa statement na wala kami natanggap na love letter pero puros natakot pinagsasabi. We’re doing this for free with no real benefit to it. If the admins want to fire us despite that, then why tf would we cry? And pwede ba, walang pride sa pagiging mod. You can’t put that on your resume and be fast-tracked for jobs. You can’t use that to seduce people. You don’t get a pat on the back from friends or family for being one. Pinagsasabi nyo dyan na ego and power?? Hahaha.
Ayaw daw magbayad gusto libre when this was literally addressed in the very first post about the issue ever na walang problema kung need magbayad basta within reason (see the Imgur API request comparison). Heck, finding out that Relay is salvageable as long as you pay a $2 subscription was good news to me and a lot of its users. But its users still supported the protest because there’s a bigger picture.
Wala naman daw sila paki sa third-party apps so bakit sila dinadamay. It’s a stand against corporate greed. Kung umasta sila na parang Elon Musk, what’s stopping them from taking out old.reddit? Or requiring real names to be added to your profile so they can better monetize? Kailan ka pa kikilos? Kung andyan na?
I guess communities come and go talaga. And I think this is for the better. Reddit is starting to become “too mainstream” anyway. I sound like an edgelord but it is still my genuine opinion that if a community gets too saturated, the quality also gets worse.
I came from the era of forums pa. Grew up with convergenceforums, moved to symbianize, god-forbidden 4chan, and various other boards for each small community I belong to. Until social media basically killed message boards.
This is just another transition, I hope. While I don’t benefit from 3rd party reddit apps anyway, I still don’t feel good about supporting the platform of a tyrant CEO who doesn’t even value its users, the ones who keep the community running. Fuck spez.
Dude, I remember the time when Reddit is a pure Internet forum with dedicated subs and elongated posts and replies. No bullshits, no short-term videos grabbed from mainstream socmeds. Reddit is my secondary search engine until now.
Problema talaga, kulang sa simpatiya mga Pinoy sa kapwa nila. Kaya di tayo umuunlad. Hanggang di tayo direktang naapektuhan, magbubulag-bulagan lang sa kamalian.

If Reddit becomes Facebook, that would be a great betrayal for legacy Redditors (10+ years old account).
