      Interesting, I had been wondering why they looked relatively uneven around the edges. I guess, that’s also why they’re comparatively small and need less time for cooking.

        Not related to the topic, but if you’re looking for a good sweet-spicy breakfast, you’ll love Kadle-Bajil (Brown chickpeas with flattened rice). This is one of the many breakfasts from my hometown - basically, it’s a mixture of teo dishes - Kadle Upkari and Masala Bajeel. Just substitute cow’s ghee with unsalted vegan butter, ghee or simply coconut oil (we use coconut oil, btw). It’s not super spicy btw - think of it as lightly spiced as masala oats.
