I’m simply pointing out that this was never about inside trading and it was never mentioned in the article. I’d say it certainly counts as worthy of suspicion, however, given the recent revelations about how he responded to January 6th. Which is also discussed in the article, mind you. But I don’t want to debate that. Just making sure you guys going off about insider trading actually read it.
AGREED! Why is it news that Justice Alito is LITERALLY doing everything the January 6ers who were found guilty of Sedition are TELLING him to do? It’s not like Justice Alito is CREATING Laws for which you and I must follow!
Read the article. It explains that there is a potential pattern of behavior indicating he should recuse himself from certain cases due to political bias
The transactions have bred fresh accusations that Alito, one of the high court’s six conservatives, is engaging in or aligning with partisan politics, despite a recently adopted code of conduct that directs the justices to “refrain from political activity.”
If the complaint is that the move was politically motivated in violation of the new code of conduct, that code of conduct only came into effect a few months after the shares were bought and sold. Even then, a reasonable argument could be made that he was instead motivated by the shift in share price. Don’t get me wrong, I think the dude is a piece of shit that should step down for the good of the country, but this is not where we should be wasting our energy caring about.
Feel free to address the contents of the article now that you read it. I was just pointing out that what you were talking about was completely irrelevant.
I don’t like this guy’s decisions but this is just a guy seeing what the trends are and selling stock.
There’s no insider information, why the fuck is this news?
The implication is it was politically/ideologically motivated. Says it right at the start under “Key Points”
Did you read the article? It has nothing to do with insider trading.
Yes I did and I don’t think selling stocks that are being affected by a boycott is illegal or proof of partisan motivation.

Insider trading would be one of the few reasons why this would be illegal which is why I brought it up.
Why is this news in your mind?

Did they tell him to sell his AB stocks while they were tanking?
Have a good one
Suspicion of what?

How is selling stock that is going down due to a boycott anything to do with Jan 6?
This is rage bait that you’re buying into.
👍
In itself, this isn’t really news. But that together with the other news about him, I think that’s pretty obvious.
Why fight this so hard if this isn’t “newsworthy” according to you?
I’m pointing out it’s a goofy thing to be worried about but if you consider it to be fighting hard then you do you.
From the article:
Yeah I was thinking the same, this isn’t insider trading. In fact I don’t think it’s even vaguely sketchy.
