Axon has been inviting police departments to webinars about the new AI-based product, which will automatically generate police reports based on bodycam audio, according to emails obtained by 404 Media.

In April, law enforcement contracting giant Axon announced Draft One, a new product that uses OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo to automatically generate police reports from officers’ bodycam audio. The product promises to make police work more efficient, freeing up resources for officers to direct elsewhere, while also raising serious questions about bias, accuracy, and the role of AI in policing.

    If they train it off self written reports and video from officers there’s not much chance of it being accurate or unbiased.

    Maybe if they train it off third party reports, specifically written to be unbiased, it might be more accurate and less biased.

    Sadly the only way it’ll be accepted by the unions is if it is the first.
