The Bay State Correctional Center will help house families on the waitlist for state shelter. It was decommissioned in 2015 and remains in good condition, officials said. The state prison population has fallen by nearly half in less than a decade.

      Yeah, they say converting, but that would require significant amount of work and investment of time and resources, which they have no intention of putting in. This is more putting homeless people in prison without having to go through a trial first…
