Nothing important here. I just want to see how many people are moving away from Reddit.

    Boost refugee reporting!!

I should probably just uninstall Boost from my phone :( I just opened it and seems to be working, but maybe it hasn’t kicked in yet

There are still some subreddits that I used a lot that [seem like they] haven’t migrated over yet :/ battlestations, intermittentfasting, lostark, oneplus, purdue, my local town, etc. It just sucks a lot since I’m trying to avoid using reddit entirely :(

How does everyone from Reddit feel about the lemmy experience?

As of this moment, there are currently:

    • 476 subscribers from lemmy.world
    • 61 subscribers from kbin.social
    • 30 subscribers from lemmy.ml

It’ll take time, and most importantly content, to entice migration.

The number of communities are a lot smaller for sure. But the ones I need are here; i.e. Iinux gaming, popos, anime, hentai.

      Content! That’s the key.

As for the platform, i like the inline commenting, but I miss markdown. Also, it keeps the interface in Greek(??). I do have Greek installed as a secondary keyboard layout for all my physics/maths typing, but having a Greek interface (which I have to change everytime from “Browser’s default” to English, is weird.

Yesterday and the day before I was intimidated by (lemmy /kbin / the fediverse) today Im already more comfortable. Anyone feeling the same, I advice to just mess around commenting and posting, people in here are nice, you’ll get the hang of it if you try.
Haven’t gone on reddit since the blackout and probably won’t go back.
Hope more of us join, so far its been fun.
Although some of the communities I liked to browse on reddit are not yet here, its helping me expand and diversify a bit on the content I usually read, so I ain’t complaining.

I know it’s early days, and this wasn’t exactly something that could be planned for, but have you considered whether this community should be on a separate lemmy instance? What I mean is, it looks like the main motivation to reopen r/pop_os is to keep that content publicly available. But it shows the conflict of having that content on a platform that’s not controlled by the Pop project, or its users, or S76. So far I don’t imagine a conflict with the lemmy.world admin, but can that be guaranteed? Is there (at least planned) functionality for a whole community to move from one lemmy instance to another?

The lemmy.world maintainer has a lot of experience hosting instances for Mastodon, and lemmy.world currently has the best hardware, highest uptime, and now the highest population count compared to other instances.

What other instance would you recommend?

For me, Reddit died at exactly the same time as the Appolo app did. Fuck reddit’s leaders and their advisors.

Yes, Element is the most stable and feature rich Matrix client. Schildi chat is also great. Schildi is a clone of Element and has omissions and inclusions that make it aesthetically appealing and functional. Check it out. Element is great on every platform including Android, and will be releasing a Rust based improvement soon. Another client I’ve had a good time with, but lacks important features is Fluffy Chat. Works well on Android if you just want to chat. Cinny is a decent client. It’s uncluttered and looks nice. Having said, you can’t go wrong with Element.

I’ve deleted my reddit account which ive had since the digg exodus. Uninstalled Boost and moved on… except every time I open my phone I still instinctively go to open it. Muscle memory indicates I may have had a reddit addiction.
