So I’m willing to replace my physical notebook for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 5, but I’m having trouble finding the exactly app for me.

I need a note taking app with basically 2 features:

  1. Convert handwrite to text
  2. Ability to select the page background (I want to use a daily template that I’ve already made)

I doesn’t expect it to be free, but it would be nice for an app that, at least, offer a free trial.

And it’d be nice if it could sync between devices, specially with my Mac.

Any suggestions?

EDIT:

I saw a lot of people telling about Samsung Notes, but the handwrite to text conversion simply doesn’t exist for me. I think it’s probably because I’m (still) not using a pen.

Another option would be using the Gboard handwriting feature, but I didn’t get used to it. I prefer writing directly at the place that the text needs to be.

I don’t have an android device right now (this popped up on lemmy.world / all) but I use Good Notes on my iPad and it looks like they have an android version available. It should be able to convert handwritten text, replace background, and it syncs with Mac. Not sure which parts are free as I’ve had the paid upgrade for a while now.

Kind of confused by wanting handwriting recognition while not using a pen? Are you writing with your finger?

Hahahaha you have a good point and I’m sorry I didn’t explained that before! For now, yes, I’m writing with my finger!

I’m taking a look to see if I’ll get used to taking notes and planning my day with my tablet before expending money in a pen that I’d only use for this.

Also, thanks for the recommendation! I tried Good Notes but I think the handwriting recognition is a paid feature. I will take a look if there’s a trial!

I tried many note taking apps before settling on Goodnotes, I know your pain! Sometimes an app gets sooo close but just doesn’t work quite the way you need it to… good luck!

That’s exactly my point, specially because when I started making my daily planner for work it helped a lot with my ADHD, so the point is to find something to help even more! Thank you very much!
