I’m nonbinary and I’m happy to be like that, but I think politically I’m conservative!! I don’t like politics but I dislike some leftists point of views, I think both political parties can be ok. But I lean more conservative of course!! But while also supporting LGBT!! Can I be both then?? I’m just curious, I’m not a political person anymore.

Well, “Jews for Hitler” was a real group, so you can be whatever you want.

Edit: I feel I should point out that there is a difference between having conservative views on politics and sharing the current conservative views on LGBTQ+, just know what you are voting for.

I edited my original comment before your reply posted, but yes, conservative politics cover many actual political things, but the “loud and in power” leverage certain views on the LGBTQ+ community and try to pass laws on that for their own political (financial) gain.

Anyone can be anything, they might just be an asshole depending on who they’re giving their support to 🤷

And, a note - everyone is political. There’s no such thing as not being political if you live in a community with other people. Trying to avoid it just means implicitly supporting the status quo, which may mean a lot or may mean nothing.

Peter Thiel is gay man, a leading conservative, and a vile absolute slime of a human being. Absolute piece of shit. Actively using his resources to hurt people.

If you “don’t like politics” and are “not a political person anymore”, why even define yourself as a political identity? Does “conservative” here mean a political identity that rejects politics? I’m confused.

I’m not defining myself yet… I just want to find a middle ground in politics that will make everyone feel ok!!

You can be absolutely anything and everything you want to be. There is no rule about what you are expected to think/believe, based on your sexual identity or gender identity.

You may possibly be in a minority, but there are other “queer” people (using this in the broadest way possible) who also identify as conservative.

That said, it would be worth understanding what kind of views you hold so that we can help you frame it more appropriately. There is (obviously) a big difference between “I like [x] policy from [y] person” vs “the Deep State stole the election from Donald Trump and Covid19 never actually existed”.

You can be fiscally conservative. To be LGBTQ+ and be socially conservative would be majorly self-contradictory unless you took the position that being LGBTQ+ is a mental illness that you’re unfortunately affected by against your wishes.

Well that is a fascinating and bizarre definition.

Where are you? Most US conservatives use socialism as the bogeyman and practically a swear word.

Every single time I see something like this I wonder why people bother putting useless labels on themselves.

Makes me think “I’m more of an ‘oh’ sayer than an ‘um’ sayer. Can I say ‘um’ sometimes without getting the ‘um’ people upset?” as a similar argument.

Conservative means many different things to many different people, and the definition found from Oxford Languages has this to say, “(in a political context) favoring free enterprise, private ownership, and socially traditional ideas.”

Socially Traditional ideas and non-binary are currently at odds.

So if you want to clear anything about this up, you should probably go ahead and define which aspects of conservatism you agree with, and which ones you’re not ok with, and make up your mind from there.
