Hiii gay people in my phone! Decided to introduce myself here, since I really like the place so far :3

So, nice to meet you, I’m Lilith ^^

I’m 21 and live in Germany. A few months ago my egg cracked, so I use she/her now. At the moment I study physics, but I’m also interested in IT (and cyber security, but I know way less about that than I’d like to), politics and TTRPGs. So far, so cookie-cutter trans girl, right?

Well, the revolution will be won in thigh highs, and if the quickest way to get those is to install Arch, who am I to complain. I initially found this instance through c/196, since I’ve been lurking on r/196 for a few years now (and breaking the rule numerous times >:3), but I deleted my r*ddit account a good bit ago, and never looked back. I’ve since discovered the fediverse, and I really like how quaint it is here. Being able to catch up on all posts, and quickly recognizing users is really cool!

Some other random facts about me:

  • I’ve recently got into freediving and just broke four minutes :D
  • I’m biromantic, but still figuring out where I sit on the ace/bi spectrum
  • I’ve been doing some organizing and direct action for climate protests for years now, and got arrested by the cops a few times
  • In my activism I decided to go vegan, but since then it’s not about the climate anymore, I just like animals too much <3
  • Lilith isn’t actually my name, but I don’t want everyone on the internet know my real name :P

Happy to be here, and I’m looking forward to that will become of this place. Decentralized internet is here to stay!

      Heyy c:

So far I like it a lot, it’s probably due to the size, but it feels more like a community than reddit ever did

yeah, i was on lemmy way before like the whole reddit exodus thing and ngl the stronger sense of community thing was the whole attraction for sticking around back when there was nowhere near as many people on here. Even now it’s still got that same feel long as you’re not on some giant instance like lemmy.ml, lemm.ee or, worst of all, lemmy.world (which is basically just reddit 2 at this point).
iirc someones planning on setting up a blahaj minecraft server or something but i might be misrembering, iirc at least one or two of the other older, smaller instances do similar stuff with like, movie nights and stuff

Actually, I don’t know if anyone else did, but I set up a server I wanted to roll out, but the lady I take care of had a bad seizure and I had to save her a week ago, and I’ve been too busy to formally do anything with it.

It’s reachable at mc.nostressyjessie.com on Java and Bedrock 1.20.2 if anyone would like to join in getting it established with me.

I’ve been in the same boat, my partner ended up in the hospital just yesterday. Seems like all we do is see doctors anymore.

Thanks for joining the server, put a smile on my face to see a name other than mine in the server logs XD

yeah, I’ve been avoiding the bigger instances (with the exception of some specific communities), the larger ones feel just as bad as reddit already (they grow up so fast :'D )

A blahaj minecraft server sounds super fun! hell, I could probably do that myself, as long as not too many people decide to join :3

Yeah iirc the other instances that I know do this are beehaw, hexbear and lemmy.world and it seems to be working pretty well for community building for them (beehaw has a Minecraft server and a matrix/discord server iirc, hexbear has a discord for trans users of the site, a Minecraft server, a SS13 server, a cytube instance and a mutual aid comm and lemmy.world has a Minecraft server (hex mainly has so much stuff because it’s so old and bcs of its really insular posting culture))

You can get Minecraft hosting pretty cheap nowadays iirc, slap a basic modpack on there and it’s all good! I was thinking about playing Minecraft again recently so it’s good timing >:)
