Do you selfhost stuff? If so, what? If not, would you like to selfhost stuff, and what would you selfhost?

For those curious, you can see the specs of my dedicated server and most of the services I self-host here: https://burggit.moe/post/17737

I still game often but I don’t have the time to moderate a community. So game servers are really just if a group of friends want to do a MC modpack or something.

I have an Elegoo Neptune 2 that’s been fun to tinker with. It’s compatible with Ender 3 parts, recently replaced the bed with a glass bed. Octoprint has made it easier to start prints without having to physically move a microsd card around. I am planning on LED modding it to light up the print bed, got a buck converter to step-down the 24v to 12v for the LED strip. Just need to spend more time planning how I want to do it before committing to the mod.

I tend to work on things when I have both the interest and energy at that moment. This tends to lead to sometimes large projects done in hours but other or simple projects going months without progress. I also like to aim for projects where I could leave it idle for months-years with minimal maintenance to keep it going.

If I do the .moe stuff, it’d probably be a semi-public thing. I want to do a public thing, but I also don’t want to do the moderation required to prevent it from being abused and blacklisted.

I’ve used Plex for years, LTT was showcasing Plex for self-hosted media. More recently I’ve heard about Jellyfin but I haven’t had the time to check it out. I’ve heard app support for Jellyfin isn’t fully there yet while apps for Plex has a more Netflix-like UI. That just makes it easier for family members to use it without over complicating stuff.
