I don’t think necessarily everyone who likes loli or shota are also MAPs, but there’s obviously a very large overlap between the two.
IMO most people who do this are either just trying to save face or are in denial about their attraction. You’ll often hear from gay people how they thought they were straight and were in denial about their sexuality for a long time before accepting themselves, so I think a big chunk of the people who say they’re lolicons/shotacons but not MAPs are having the same experience because society is extremely antagonistic towards MAPs.
Yeah, I definitely spent a while in that camp. Even after I joined the radqueer community, I was admint I was only a fictto MAP for the longest time. Took a while for me to realise and accept that I just like all kids,
liking kodocon = ficto-map most often - at the very least ( not necessarily an irl map ) in my mind
I thought I was straight, went through the denial stage with being gay as well as with being a map. It was a very similar process for both of them, but it still took me years after accepting I like men to accept that I like kids too.
In denial. I was for years. I just hope some of my friend circle starts opening up
I think there is a subset who thinks shota is ‘cute’ but don’t find themselves attracted to it or lusting after its depictions, but I think it’s a small group…
I do think it’s possible to only be a fictoMAP or like kodocon for other reasons like being an autoMAP or trying to cope with childhood trauma.
That said, there’s still a huge issue of Kodocons antagonizing MAPs, even though they’re not that far removed from being a MAP themselves, and it’s pathetic. I wouldn’t be surprised if a large portion of them were in the closet.
Very soon after I started getting into lolis I began identifying with MAP’s so I wouldn’t be surprised
They have fooled only themselves.
They are in delusion and denial. If you find a childish body or teen body attractive (pretty obvious in most animes) then love to tell you this but you might be a map too. I would say it’s a gateway.
