- You get home
- The train enters into a terminal on the ground floor of a 80-story tower
- It is surrounded by a botanical garden and an algae farm
- The outside of the complex looks like an overgrown forest
- You see it through a glass wall but you can’t go there yet
- It has been declared a protected zone to regrow it
- You go back to the temperate area of the botanical garden
- There’s a little kiosk that looks like a mushroom
- You reach for your wallet to buy a milkshake but you can’t find it
- Cringing at this vulgar gesture of yours, the distributor inside the kiosk decides to drink it himself
- Fat L taken
- You wander back to the tower
- On the outside, it is a massive socialist-realism style building
- But on the inside, every floor has its unique style of interior design
- Some are clearly made by amateurs who live on the floor
- Most are commissions by locally renowned artists
- You take the lift to the 80th floor to get a good view, but even the top of the tower is so massive you get lost
- Usually people party on the roof but tomorrow there the entrance exams for the tower’s university
- But that way you can climb the spire in peace
- By the time you made it up, the sun has set
- You look down on the intricately nested terraces and balconies, the ornaments and statues, the many, many flags
- The garden and the farm are illuminated in a soft green light, surrounded by a wide belt of absolute black
- There are a also a few dim lights in the distance
- Not everyone is a tower person
- You go back inside and struggle to find apartment 52.M708
- It consists of a bath, a toilet, a study, a bedroom, and a small dining space
- Cooking and most forms of entertainment are meant to be done together in the common area or on the ground floor
- Mail, laundry, and garbage are automatically sent to their destination through a series of vents
- You want to fall asleep to the TV and zap through to find a random celebrity talkshow
- Alas everything is about science, art, technology, nature, or philosophy
- You lie awake until 4am, having existential crises about the vastness of space
- But at least you’re not alone
