You know we value diverse opinions, discussion and debate at Exploding Heads. Unfortunately we live in a era when a tyrannical minority are trying to stamp out anything that does not align with their views.
Good conquers evil, although sometimes it takes some time and the good suffer some cuts and bruises along the way.
Our path to victory in life is to be the best people we can be.
With that in mind, I would like to remind you all of the rules for this instance:

I would also like to note that on dank microwave taco and dank memes certain levels of racism and offensive material is allowed but it is judged on a case by case basis and it can’t be blatantly over the top or spammed. For example guy posts “i hate n-word seven times in one post, guy posts “jews are evil parasites inside meme” guy posts nazi flag 10 times in a row, guy posts whitey is the devil 5 times a row, these things. Please note that although posting so called offensive material is ok in these rooms, going after someone because they are black, overweight, disabled ect personally after they revealed these things to you is unacceptable and just plain wrong. I hope this clears some things up and any questions please ask me or kapow for assistance

I would hope everybody feels welcome to engage in honest discussion and debate here. That does not mean you will find everybody agreeing with your views. We have diverse opinions and believe that diversity of opinions helps us become intellectually stronger.
I have a feeling my views will not align with many of those here. Guess we’ll see how that pans out. Thanks for the response.

the defederating instances simply have illiberal / authoritarian leftwing views
The no discrimination part is interesting - it prohibits theoretically the use of slurs and attaking people for their race and such, but it also allows people to state things that they believe are truths and to have honest discussion.
Going forward, I think that is a really good policy that is anti-censorship but is also supportive of having free discussion.
meh I think you’re trying to be diplomatic and I think there’s something to be said about that approach, but on the other hand I think mostly the people who will defederate would have done so anyway regardless of us going out of our way to do anything to be courteous

it’s just like people you hang out with in person or not, it’s a mutual disinterest
we’re open to conversations with them but they’re not open to us so it doesn’t really matter what we do
