Vision of Mana is the latest mainline game of the Mana series after 18 years (Dawn of Mana/2006). So franchises that don’t get much attention anymore could come back. What franchise that have ended or don’t get much attention from their publishers would you like to see come back?
Emphasis on the Trigger. Cross was a good game but not a good sequel.
I loved Trigger due to its simplistic story. Cross took that and went crazy convoluted.
If they did a sequel, I wouldn’t want the same characters as your main (or maybe just Robo or Glenn). I think you should meet the OG cast, but it should a new experience in the same world.
Many people go back and play CT semi-religiously, like rereading a favorite book over and over again, perhaps once a year (or so).
CC not so much. Yeah it wasn’t “bad” just… it’s really hard to measure up to the greatest RPG game of all time:-).
Another Eden was kind of a spiritual successor to CT, and even made by some of the same people - it has time travel, even branching out to include alternate realities, and all kinds of techno-weirdness.:-) However, it’s also a greedy ga(t)cha mobile game that tries its very hardest to get you to spend money, even if you have already spent a great deal. Essentially the game itself becomes an advertisement (for spending), sorta like how Netflix works in moving pictures (sometimes with sound) into every single place it can in its player, despite how you pay for the service bc it “doesn’t have ads”.:-(
Anyway, even aside from that, while AE contains some fantastic stories, it’s also incredibly long, and still doesn’t hold a candle to CT, despite having essentially some of the same characters - e.g. a talking sword-wielding frog whose name is definitely not Glenn hint hint nudge nudge wink. It’s also enormously grindy, even if you pay money to vastly shorten it.
CT was definitely something special, for its time, and we will not see its like again anytime soon I suspect - capitalism offers what is most profitable to sell, not what would be best for us to have.
