Fuck russia for making life cheap. Everything else stems from that one central goddamned tenet. Not only are they stubbornly miserable, they stubbornly insist on making those around them as miserable as they are.

EDIT: I will never forget - and neither should anyone else - that vandalism graffiti the barbaric invaders left on that public park restroom in Bucha: “Who gave you permission to live this well?”

This is the fundamental conservative belief. Life is cheap, make it more abundant and exploit it. They are people farmers, as all conservatives are. Human resources are livestock to be abused and made to have low standards several to a bunk while they have mansions for 1 person.

Its why their pro-life view (not caring about it after its out) is entirely consistent and coherent. A farmer doesn’t want fewer heads of cattle, its uncapitalist

“There’s no greys, only white that’s got grubby. I’m surprised you don’t know that. And sin, young man, is when you treat people as things. Including yourself. That’s what sin is.’

‘It’s a lot more complicated than that -’

‘No. It ain’t. When people say things are a lot more complicated than that, they means they’re getting worried that they won’t like the truth. People as things, that’s where it starts.”

        ― Terry Pratchett, Carpe Jugulum

Under the veneer of fantasy parody, Pratchett was able to sneak in surprisingly strong ethics and morality lessons in a very likeable manner. It’s one of many reasons I love the Discworld books - they make me want to be better.

I suspect that the characters Esmerelda Weatherwax and Sam Vimes were in fact Pratchett’s vehicles to convey his own moral values.

People on ru-lang resources were divided over what made her relatives leave her. I for one happy she’d get medical attention.
