      The comic is utter bullshit.

Flip the man and the woman and change the text to “Can you come back? A lightbulb needs changing” and you’ve got sexism, but this is supposed to be funny because dads are bad?

of course silly, everybody knows it isn’t sexism when it’s against a man! men aren’t a systematically subjugated group which means that jokes at their expense are “punching up” and therefore have 0 restrictions

Just do as all dad’s have done in the past. Learn from mistake and teach them a lesson that deflects responsibility from you, “See? And that’s why you shouldn’t just trust people, even if they’re adults.”

That’s how I thank my dad for teaching me how to work on motorbikes instead of blaming him for having my legs covered in burning oil before being stuck under an 80CC’s burning exhaust pipe on my fifth birthday—yes, it was too large a bike at that age.

What are you on about? This as confusing as my 60 year old father trying to explain final fantasy 7’s combat system to me on my seventh birthday - no, he did not know what a jrpg was.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your take here but I think it’s important to note that an alternate interpretation of the situation could easily be “my dad is such an asshole for getting me the wrong awesome toy for my birthday” and that’s not nearly as mature as the version you came up with.
