If you’re not a citizen my absolutely uneducated answer would be: if you were suspected of having done anything like that you would be detained for tampering with evidence - because they would now detain you for tampering with evidence. I would have said this wouldn’t have been a huge issue before, they wouldn’t have anything to hold you on after that, but that is certainly not true now.

Posting this is an extremely harmful claim to make regardless, but to do so with a “practical example” is not only incredibly offensive it has the potential to be profoundly harmful. Please consider providing real data for your claims or editing your post entirely.

Just a heads up some programs like Redact (for deleting social media posts including Reddit) on iOS require a subscription if you want to delete chat history vs free for dm. I recommend using shreddit anyway, and I would seriously consider you do so asap.

But that is a very slim amount of people who are looking to do this. Vulnerable groups have a much more difficult time emigrating in general, and they certainly make up a far lower percentage than those of cis white people running for the door.
