I don’t think there was a time when formatting wasn’t important.

From double spaced text to allow edits, to certain margins, to sectioning, to indexes, to appendices, to properly italicized bibliographical references, to page references etc.

It assists you in conveying your intent as the writer and if standardized it makes it easier for the reader (ie your teacher) to orient themselves with minimal effort. Similar to having a consistent user interface.

To be fair, Jews were also massive victims of empire and colonialism. They were kicked around Europe for centuries since the Greeks and the Romans.

The combination of clean UI with long promised updates seems like a winning combination. I don’t really play games on my phone. I just want it to go through the basic tasks quickly (photos, voice dictation, app switching etc, I currently have a OnePlus 7 Pro and it has kept up admirably - but being stuck in android 12 with some quirky behaviour is a bit annoying).

So I guess I’m not looking for a powerhouse - but I do want something that does the basic stuff right - however if it doesn’t bring table stakes (ie if modem or voice quality or other connectivity is subpar) then the rest is not important.

I think he has somehow managed to leave the CEO of SpaceX alone to do her thing - or likely she has managed him also as she seems incredibly competent.

The only thing that gives me pause is the weirdly high IMDb score. IMDb is usually a lot more brutal than Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes - so maybe it’s worth watching a few minutes to see if it’s better than what the other scores suggest.

I’m assuming the West’s analysis is that there’s no better political reality inside Russia in sight, even with Putin gone, so they’re better off just declawing the bear. Which to a large degree has already happened…

Meanwhile the upside is that the collective West gets to try tactics and weapons for modern warfare (drones, ai, analysis) and get ready for the next fight. They also gained a fight-ready, trained ally in Ukraine and a sharper focus in Europe of what’s at stake and everything that that involves (eg energy and supply chain independence).

The downside is obviously the deaths of Ukrainians in the front line, but I don’t know how many of them could be prevented without NATO getting properly involved.
