  • Didn’t the huge group of humans that could never agree on anything all decide to go live without technology with cave men at the end? It’s been a very long time since I watched it but I remember hating that. iirc there were some unresolved plot lines too, but I don’t remember enough to list them. I was a huge fan of the early seasons.

  • It’s not an exact definition, but below I think is close:

Baby Boomers: Born 1946-1964 (18 years)

    Generation X: Born 1965-1980 (15 years)

    Millennials (Gen Y): Born 1981-1996 (15 years)

    Generation Z: Born 1997-2012 (15 years)

    Generation Alpha: Born 2013-present

What you’re saying doesn’t line up with this at all, but maybe you have other generation dates in mind.

Reading through the above comments it seems like goalposts keep moving on what counts as a console. Does the wii u not count as a console because the controller had a screen and the price to performance is poor?

I’m not sure any of you have a concrete definition for a console, and maybe there isn’t one. It might be more of a spectrum with open and configurable devices on one end and the more focused devices with walled garden software on the other.

Then you can say that ps5 is more like a console than steam deck is, and steam deck is more like a console than a pc.

  • I can see complaining about it if the game’s design is affected by the changes. For example, the addition of compass/map markers greatly affects quest design.

It’s also why imo some of elden ring’s bosses suck if you try to solo them - they’re designed with summons, spirits, and overleveling in consideration.

On the flipside it seems like the boss design in sekiro gets a lot of praise. I’m playing through sekiro now and don’t have an opinion on it yet (though the combat does feel very good so far).

I’m not a git gud person (I’m quite the noob at souls games) though, and I hope they continue to make their games more accessible. But I understand how veteran fans of their games might be concerned about changes that may affect how they like to play.
