Humans need to go extinct for the good of every non-human on the planet. We’re never going to get a critical mass of people worldwide on the right page to continue increasing our population without wrecking everything.

He’ll step down, next guy will come in and start passing legislation. It’ll be another fight over legitimacy, but they’ll pass some bill about funding Israel, the Senate will take that one up, Biden will sign it, then we’ll effectively never need a speaker again. Israel gets its money, and the government will still shut down on November 15.

The supreme court is a right wing sclerotic fistula providing passage to creeping fascism, but reinterpreting Article 3 Section 1 is a tall order. By only saying that justices shall “hold their offices during good behavior” the Constitution is traditionally read to mean that only impeachment, retirement, or death will end a term.
