Name recognition is a hell of a thing. It explains why shitty incumbents consistently get re-elected. Also, voters are so fucking stupid.

Most people underestimate the link between having children and climate change.
Oh goodness.
I wish people would explain their downvotes for this post. It has more information and nuance than 99% of the posts on lemmy. I guess because it doesn’t fit whatever rage they are currently entertaining.

I had to laugh at an earlier observation of a homeless guy being kicked out of the UCI encampment by the protestors.
EDIT: Hal Holbrook wasn’t wrong when he said the change in the audience over the years for his Mark Twain show was a quickly dwindling ability to appreciate satire.
You can look up the man page for date
. I’m not sure if that’ll do, but it’s pretty easy. Something like date --set="1 MAY 18:00:00"
as root.
Ah, my bad. I saw the systemd timers thing, and not knowing much about systemd I figured that was an alternative closer to at than cron. Looks like it’s more of another unneeded replacement. I use at all the time and only really edit my cron a few times a year. I’d think that I’d learn to read entire articles before commenting.
I always wonder why at
isn’t mentioned more in these types of articles.
When I have that happen, it’s usually someone (I’m guessing on iPhone), sending an attachment to a group thread. It shows up in the group thread, but then it’ll pop up in that person’s individual thread and give me that warning. Not sure if that’s what’s going on. I think it also sometimes happens if I’m using the browser on my desktop for messages.

Some countries don’t find it that big of a deal. Different strokes, as the saying goes.
I remember when the Federal tax break was renewed and Ford’s response was to jack up prices the same amount. Fuck Ford. I’ve had two Ford trucks over the decades, Rangers for that that’s worth. Never had a problem with them. Despite that, I will not be buying a Ford again in my life.
In a statement, he called WABC’s policies “a clear violation of free speech.”
I swear to whatever that these stupid fuckers always bitching about muh Freedom of Speech never made it through HS gov’t class.
I didn’t think their problems were engineer related, but production and quality control. I don’t really know much though.
Haha, the few times I had to use my motorcycle horn I felt really emasculated by its weak beep.
I was listening to an NPR segment a couple months ago that talked about how a lot of Evangelicals don’t care about the environment dying. They actually embrace it as a quicker route to rapture or some such weird shit.
As Kris Kristofferson wrote, and Janis Joplin sang,“Freedom’s just another word, for nothing left to lose.”
If I’ve learned anything over the years, it is that geriatric power vampires never willingly step down.
