His injury record is heartbreaking both from a personal and Arsenal perspective. He seems like such a good guy, and he’d be so goddamn useful to plug all the injury holes in the XI. Who else could have set up that Martinelli goal against City :(

I hope we learn from the Declan saga: pick a number that’s actually the maximum we’re willing to pay, plonk it down with minimal clause faffing about (the day after the transfer window opens would be nice, Andrea), and if/when they say no, pivot immediately and stop thinking about him. It isn’t, really. Liverpool have probably overperformed by about 3-6 points this season and they’re rightfully getting praised for it. Arsenal have overperformed by probably 9-12 points this season, given the injuries, and because our lofty goals, we’re shitting on ourselves for it. Understandable, but context is important.

Never said military actions. China has been trying to establish economic hegemony in Africa for a while via giant loans for infrastructure projects that the nations in question could never possibly repay. Of course, the terms of the loan establish that if the nation defaults, China immediately gains control over all assets built with the money.
