Finishing up an Alaskan cruise. This is the complete opposite of how I usually travel and likely something I will never do again. That said, it has overall been an incredible time with some wonderful companions.

Tomorrow, we will pick up my friend’s ashes at a post office in Anchorage, and the next day we will head to Kenai Fjords National Park. He made it to 49 states, so we’re bringing him to the 50th.

This is one of those things that, if I can was in another country, if someone were to describe the base ingredients (like not literally spam but “pork” or whatever), I would think, “Not for me most of the time, but sounds like a tasty thing to try once.”

I haven’t heard rizz, but working in an elementary school, sus has been around for awhile, and skibidi was just starting to get frequent enough to be super annoying towards the end of the school year.

My mom grew up in the rural outskirts of Cincinnati and says youse. Meanwhile my dad, who grew up more inside the city, constantly made fun of her for it.

I got Cincinnati and two random places I’ve never even visited as my top three results, probably because my way of speaking is a super mixed bag from living in different places. Language is weird.

The past two weeks were amazing, and I’m an Orff Level 3 certified teacher now! Also last night I finally made it back to that little karaoke spot I found about a month ago. The owner is such a cool lady and there’s this wonderful feeling of community I’ve felt totally welcomed into. It will be another month before I’m able to go back since I’m about to do some traveling, but I definitely anticipate it being a regular haunt for me.

Ended up at this awesome little karaoke spot that isn’t even on Google maps tonight and had a blast. I really hope I manage to follow through with going back soon.

The older I get, the more range in age of friends I have. I have friends in their 70s and in their 20s at this point. And you definitely shouldn’t feel embarrassed about learning something new when you’re older. How boring would it be to only know the same things we did when we were 20 for the rest of our lives?

It’s only Monday, and I’m TIRED. Three weeks of school left, and the kids are wackadoodle.
