Awesome, let’s make this happen!
Awesome, let’s make this happen!
“As society has been converted into a factory and a marketplace, the very rationale of life has been reduced to production for its own sake—and consumption for its own sake.”
This is what I am using lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drip_coffee#/media/File:Kaffeefilter.jpg Feels more timeless/bitfl than the Aerothingy to me. Cheaper as well.

This looks very interesting, thanks! Will definitely check both out
Thanks, I will check it out :) The Android client is a plus as well
Unfortunately many of the sources I want to check don’t offer RSS; so it would need to be a bit more flexible. Web based would be nice
Sounds like a great idea, I was kind of looking for something like that here on lemmy though. Not sure if it would make sense to discuss books in the comments, or if that is a bad format for that.
I think that’s a great idea, how did you get started?
I heard about both for the first time, but from what I have read now it’s probably the german equivalent to CSA.
So far I only have peppermint, gotu kola, strawberry (apparently you can use the leaves as well) and lavender. But I want to add more local plants, such as lemon balm. I’ll add some dried apple skin as well for more flavor. For the home server so far I only run jellyfin but I just got started recently. I am using Obsidian for note taking and such, I am pondering to host that myself as well and make it sync. What are you running on yours? I am still looking for ideas :)
I am also interested in sewing. Sometimes I buy second hand stuff online and then it doesn’t quite fit. If you can just change it yourself that would be awesome. Or just make your own from scratch. But I don’t have a sewing machine and don’t want to buy one because I am not sure I will stick with it.
With limited space I am growing some plants on my balcony. Decided to harvest and dry the herbs so I have supply during the winter. I want to make my own herb tea blend as well, let’s see how that goes. Also decided to get of the streaming sites and have my own server at home. I calculated the energy price and it will be cheaper for me. This at least saves energy during streaming because traffic doesn’t go through 10 routers on the way to my device. And I am on a renewable energy plan.
Good to know! I translated from German, here it is called “Solidarische Landwirtschaft”
I randomly stumbled upon something called “Solidary agriculture” yesterday. People come together, pay a monthly price to keep a farm running. This makes the farm independent from draughts, bad harvests etc. In return for the money you get fresh produce throughout the year, no price fluctuations, you always get what was produced. Sometimes more sometimes less. If this isn’t Solarpunk I don’t know what is. It’s pretty easy as well, provided there is an initiative like that in your area.
Added to my reading list.
I kind of thought since I don’t have a fixed IP address this wouldn’t work but with IPv6 this should not be an issue actually. I will do some testing :)
Oh that sounds great, I will definitely check it out then!
I would really like to do this but I am super paranoid about making stuff in my home accessible from the internet heh.
Hahaha indeed!
