Being anonymous works best when you are hiding in the masses, what you want is alot of computers reporting a similar setup, then if is very hard to pinpoint who’s browser belongs to who. A good example is never using the Tor browser in a maximized window, because then your screen resolution is an fingerprinting factor.

I guess they could, but you will have to consider the purpose for getting meta data from the visitor. Most of the time it is just used for styling purposes to enhance your experience, blocking JS completely breaks alot of websites today’s because they are often rendered using Js based front-end frameworks. Look for a JS blocking extension, try out what works for you and spend some extra time tweaking it for websites you visit often, then you don’t have to rely on a specific browser.

And then hit by, Tesla have THE safest car on the road, therefore… again implied… they never had any issues regarding the safety of the cars.

I was not aware of a Australasian New Car Assessment Program. They seem to have received alot of criticism for their testing methodology being inconsistent. Yes it is a safe car.

I just said it would be on brand for Tesla. They have also had pedals and steering wheels falling off, rain and light sensors not working as expected. Those are not cosmetical and also things I would consider essential to a cars safety. It would be quite stupid to send a car with a loose steeringwheel to any of the testing agencies… if I were Tesla I would pay good money to mitigate something like that happening…

They are top rated along with many other cars. They are not the “safest” there is no grading beyond the five stars. Tesla is often misleading in their marketing that somehow their cars are safer than other cars with the same safety ratings.

I am implying that there is a likelyhood that Tesla would potentially have some lemon’s in their car fleet given their track record of reported quality issues and higher than average accident rates in their factories.

I could also be issues with the seatbelts, let’s be honest it would be very on-brand for Tesla.

Seems like a good idea. The steering wheel nag is a horrible way to check if the driver is paying attention, as it was only checking if torque is being applied to the wheel. Easy to get around with putting something heavy on the wheel at all times.

Let’s hope this helps with people not paying attention and crashing and killing innocent bystanders. What a fucking mess this whole fsd development cycle is.

Thank you for the nice write-up. I agree that it is great and whatis very impressive. Also to see old hardware not going to a landfill. I have definitely “fixed” up friend and elderlies computers by installing Ubuntu, and more lately I tried fedora silver blue for a friend. And I too have second hand ThinkPads, a P53 6 core, 64gb, rtx3000 and a t440 and then my work machine is a xps13 (not secondhand). It runs great on all of these and linux is a real workhorse.

I think my point of view come from windows “techies” that seem to be completely oblivious to Linux outside of running it on a Raspberry pi or the like, and linux is only as a way to “save” a computer because windows can’t run on it anymore. To me, Linux is a first choice for server, workstations, home use, gaming… really anything, but I might be biased… like most of us in this forum 😅😉

I can recommend running it on new hardware. I love that it runs great on old hardware, but it is a bit of a disservice to Linux distros that people always experience it on raspberry pies and other old laptops or otherwise relatively slow hardware.

Linux on a brand new hardware is insanely good.

I do it already at work! Windows runs great in qemu.

There is a few things that we still need to move away from, app wise, that requires windows. But already I solve 95% of my work tasks in Linux. We will soon move all terminal computers in our production lines to Foss software and new stations run Ubuntu. Linux runs lighter and cheaper and easier to maintain and update and replace. We are super happy about it.

Agreed. But the amount of power his word holds is kind of incredible. TSLA stock went from red to double digit black when he said there will be a cheaper model in early 2025. What do you think will happen to your investment if they ‘loose’ their charismatic leader? I believe Tesla is a strong enough brand to be standing on its own but the stock will take a hit short term.

That is a very good idea. The rest of the car industry just call it quality control… So… yeah, great marketing as always… I hope they only get better though! This is one of the biggest issue I see with the Tesla brand.
