Driver support was so dicey. If you had anything even remotely not mainstream, you would be compiling your own video driver, or network driver, or basically left to figure it out for any other peripheral. We need somebody to wear a 360 camera and go walk every aisle every day. Use image recognition to get the SKU and price from the labels + estimate stock level. Upload the data to an API that’s accessible to all for like $5/month.

There’s a program called Xevil that can solve even HCaptcha reliably, and it can solve these first gen captions by the thousands per second. It’s been solving Google’s v3 recaptchas for a long time already too.

People who write automation tools (unfortunately, usually seo spammers and web scrapers) have been using these apps for a long time.

Captchas haven’t been effective at protecting important websites for years, they just keep the script kiddies away who can’t afford the tools.

I think we’ll improve this a lot. Now it’s a race to be first, later it will be a race to be profitable and keep costs low.

Thank God. I own a business and this thing was obnoxious. Google promoted it heavily as a feature businesses should turn on to improve ranking. But it was junk.
