How is it dramatic when it’s all interconnected to begin with? People noticing a shift like that online might start to get involved in other ways as well if they start to feel more of the effect personally. It’s a good thing that people are noticing this stuff.

Again it’s not a competition and people shouldn’t have to have their frustrations compared to something else, that is devaluing it. We are allowed to be upset about something and have that stand on its own without others chiming in and acting like it doesn’t matter because of something else so that they can act self important or more intelligent. It’s just old and tired.

You seem to have an incredibly bad attitude and I wouldn’t be shocked if you were trying to start something, so I’m done here. Maybe try some empathy out for a change.

Also I think you fundamentally don’t understand the fediverse and maybe should find an alternative if you’re unwilling to make your own instance. There’s plenty of fixes for your issues and signing up and trying out different instances isn’t difficult. I also find it a little bit suspicious to post this to a more heavily moderated fine tuned instance as well and seems borderline like you’re stirring the pot to cause drama because we specifically fly in the face of what you’re after here.

Stainless steel, all the coatings are coming out as bad for our health, and non-stick doesn’t last. Enamel can chip and also expose cheap material and that can also be bad for your health. Get bar keepers friend to remove spots or tough stuff, throw it in the dishwasher, it can take a beating especially if you put some money into it. It may not be quite as low maintenance as others but it’s a lot less than cast iron and you can use whatever in it. They heat up beautifully too. Total game changer.

I would probably follow beehaw elsewhere as long as it was safe to do so for me. I think this is something important to keep alive wherever it may be. I also think for anyone who wants to stay on lemmy and would miss beehaw, if you can create your own. It may not be the easiest thing thing for everyone to do but I’m sure there are more people out there who want a space that has the simple fundamental rule of be nice. Do you have any tips or articles or anything you could share or recommend to make Firefox more like Chromium? I’m really struggling with Firefox glitching and hanging and having lots of issues and have for years but at this point that’s better than the nonsense Google is pulling I guess.

Because it’s nearly impossible to find good content let alone find what I’m after. The algorithm is constantly pushing things I don’t want to see. I’d be happy to pay if that weren’t the case.

Sounds about right. Republicans will gladly step in their own pile of garbage just to be able to point and laugh at the other guy they perceive as their enemy.

I mean when you’re houseless, the last thing you’re doing is planning a riot that isn’t going to amount to anything either. The kind of change we need takes community, mutual aid, planning, resources, and making sure everyone can come together and stay afloat, and lots of time. It isn’t something that can happen overnight. When you are on the street you’re in survival mode, planning your next meal, how to survive, and how to get out of that situation. There’s no bandwidth left to do anything more than simply survive.

That’s not a far cry from the situation a lot of people are in right now even if they have a roof over their heads. We’re all in survival mode trying to make sure the bills can be paid, there’s food on the table, and we don’t lose everything. We’re exhausted, burned out, and we have a huge empathy problem. We’re not functioning at full capacity and it’s hard to do much about the situation when it is purposefully built to keep crushing us to make sure we are also unable to fight and get out of it.

If you want change, it’s up to you, me, and everyone else to start educating ourselves more on our history, how it got this way, and how to come together and build ourselves up in a community so that we can stand together and care for each other and actually make those changes that we want to see. It’s not easy but it would definitely help if people would stop blaming each other for the issues and point their fingers at the right people and again, educate themselves. All of this inevitably ties back into politics and too many people can’t grasp that concept either and refuse to participate which means they are actively choosing to not even try to understand how to have a better future. Some of us right now don’t have a choice because we’re targets.

I don’t think people are quiet either, there’s plenty of discussions and videos even online of people discussing these things and feeling the same way. Things are changing. People are waking up to what’s happening but they have to decide to keep moving forward. We’re in a really weird place right now.

Anyway I’ve rambled enough, there’s a lot more people who have much more knowledge on this than I do and who are more qualified to speak on it.

I’ve always been of the mindset to save wherever I could, so it’s interesting to hear some people aren’t like that. It’s kind of just a given to me and the people I’ve been around to try to prepare for whatever we can as best as we can before it happens. I’m glad you were able to prevent things from getting worse for yourself and hopefully you can always carry this lesson with you into the future. It’s definitely a good don’t take things for granted story I think as well.
