It’s different, but one of the points the show wants you to think about is whether not remembering suffering is better than suffering and being in control. In that way I don’t know if I would be so certain that working during sleep without remembering would be such a good idea.
Oh absolutely. I was trying to say the charging time is the impressive bit.
My Volkswagen ID.3 charges at 100kW max (maaybe a bit faster since update 3.2 but I haven’t tried) but that quickly goes down to 60/70kW. I would love for it to go from sub 10% to 80% in 15 minutes. Usually I have to wait 30-40 minutes for that (rough estimate). For me that’s a little bit too long for a quick pee if you’re traveling say 1000km/day.
Fast charging is what enables longer trips, not necessarily just having a bigger batter. Here in Western Europe there aren’t really any dark spots where you absolutely cannot go by BEV with just an “okay range” anymore, so range is far less important. And for 95% of my use having it be 80% (250-350km) when I leave for daily activities is absolutely fine.

I keep saying, fast charging is more important than long range, especially if you can charge at home or at your workplace.
Most people don’t need hundreds upon hundreds of kilometers range. They just need to be able to charge fast for the couple of times per year they go on a longer trip.
These sorts of specs get us there.

I absolutely agree.
Cars have become expensive, sure. But what I find crazy is people are so happy to take out huge loans on it.
You can buy a really nice and comfortable car for under €10k around here. Yet so many people have a car worth 2/3 of their gross annual income.
They probably shouldn’t have named it London in hindsight. But back then of course they probably didn’t know they were going to revisit Liberty City/Vice City/San Andreas a couple of times.
Too bad that’s a 13.5 hour flight.
There are plenty of over-the-top British stereotypes they could do that the rest of the world would also appreciate. Royalty, Jacob Rees-Mogg/Boris Johnson style politicians, Brexit craziness, chavs, Geordie Shore, empire nostalgia.
Where I live you could buy a very decent RV for the equivalent of $100k. Hell even the $60k variant gets you quite a bit.
I’d much rather have that and be able to work “from home” from the south of Spain rather than drive a geometric shape.
GTA is satire about American society. Because of Hollywood, TV, and English being the lingua franca of the world, this way they can reach a far bigger audience. You couldn’t do exactly the same game set in Helsinki because the world knows far less about Finnish stereotypes. Ninja Edit: Random thought about satirical games set in Finland: My Summer Car is kind of that game.
But they have explored London before. I think the UK would probably the best setting if you would.

I know some people complain about GTA Online, but with anything as surplus to human needs as video games I’d say just vote with your Dollar.
Why?
I like old cars, but the point is there will be a point at which getting a car that is as uncomplicated as a 1990s Japanese sedan will end. In 20 years time you’d have to deal with all sorts of electric and software issues.
It used to be that you could just take out the cassette player and insert a Bluetooth radio, for instance. In modern cars everything is integrated software and it sure as hell won’t be maintained by car manufacturers after 10 years at most.
