  • To the naked eye:

    • Lots of movement in the top 10. I knew there was chaos last week, but I think the domino effect was pretty major in most ballots
    • Missouri jumps 11 spots? For what? For not almost losing to Vandy 2 weeks in a row? They were on a bye y’all
    • Ole Miss drops 14 for losing to an unranked Kentucky (they still poll above the Wildcats), seems fair.
    • Georgia drops 11 spots for losing to the third ranked tide though? (Georgia was ranked 7th when they played)
    • Reports of UNLV’s death were greatly exaggerated.
    • UNLV and Indiana just about earned a banner spot along with BYU, hang in there y’all
    • UT BOWL IS OFF
    • Penn State and Oregon finally earning some votes after a sluggish start to their respective seasons
    • Illinois gets a quality win, moving up 2 spots after losing
    • Army & Navy both getting votes, hopefully setting us up for an awesome game at the end of the season (Go Navy, Beat Army!)

  • Ehh, an 8 game SEC schedule is still tougher than a 9 game B1G (for the most part anyway, looking at you mizzou). But I don’t really disagree with you, there’s just no incentive presently for the SEC to switch. Personally, I don’t love the 9 game format as my understanding is any proposed format would have the Vols drop at least three of alabama, florida, kentucky, vandy, South Carolina and georgia annually, which won’t make me happy. I know that SCar and UGA aren’t rivals, but I love those games and I care far more about Saturdays in the fall than this silly little end of season tournament we’ve got now. What I would like to see with 8 games is a mandate of at least 2 P4 ooc games each year instead of just 1.
