Just let them donkey vote. Who cares.
The point is almost everyone participates.

The “send back to africa” part was sarcasm.
In Australia “go back to where you came from” is the catch cry of xenophobes. There was a hate group in the 00’s that literally wanted to deport anyone of Asian descent, regardless of their migration status.
Idiots. I’m certain that absolutely no one wants this. What a shit show.
This is probably very shallow and naive but…
I just completely fail to comprehend how any non- white person could be a MAGA supporter, or just conservative in general.
It just seems like a complete failure to understand the fundamentals of the political divide.
As in… Trump would send you back to Africa if it turned out he couldn’t enslave you.
refuse.
That’s just not practically possible.
OP said they’re running a small business. It’s great that they want to fly the flag for FOSS, but they’re not in the business of promoting and advocating for FOSS. They still need to do the things they need to do.
Refusing to file your taxes on the grounds that the software provided is not open source is a great way to no longer be in business.
Perhaps.
I’m less optimistic. The world over voters seem to be drawn towards these populist assholes, and I think it’s important to note that the UK is not an exception, despite the labour victory.
I fear that next election reform is going to do much better.
In the mean time, Labor may not have much of a mandate for progressive policies, they’ll be creeping to the right to quell support for reform party.
Yes, but he wasn’t 14 hours ago when I was wondering how accurate the polls were.
Polls in the US and Australia in the last decade have been absurdly inaccurate.
It’s not hyperbole, it’s fair criticism.
I genuinely believe that the minimum standard of a functioning member of society is to select a representative who will participate in setting policies for the society of which they are a part.
To claim that no one aligns with your ideology or your views is to fail in that objective. You simply select the one most closely aligned.
As a non-european I have some questions!
Firstly, is voting in the UK compulsory?
Secondly, how likely is it that the polls are wrong and the Tories will form government?
And thirdly, how have the Tories suddenly fallen from grace? They’ve presided over a real shit show for the last decade but kept getting elected. What changed?
Congratulations, you’ve failed to achieve the bare minimum standard expected of functioning members of society, and apparently failed to understand how democracy works. Well done.
I’m sure it was just one flea.
perfect!
acinfinity is probably overkill for me but honestly very tempting.
I did see that thermostat pwm board on amazon. When you say a “standard 12v power adapter” do you mean as in… like a transformer plug with 12v output and the right amperage?
I’m open to whatever solutions might be available, and these guys look like they make awesome fans, but I think I need something much less awesome and more integrated.
Basically, I just need a 120mm PC fan, supply it with the right voltage, and thermostat.
I’m an accountant.
The best accounting software will be the one your accountant uses.
When clients are on the same platform that I use internally everything just matches up and it’s beautiful and elegant and amazing.
When clients are using something else it just doesn’t fit our workflows and it’s just more of a fuck around, which of course the client gets charged for.
I’ve been flip flopping on this over the last 48 hours.
I can’t dispute that Joe doesn’t seem fit for another presidency.
That said, it sounds like it’s really up to Biden and the First Lady to decide to withdraw before anything will happen.
In the mean time, this discussion isn’t helping progressive voters. Trump will preside over an irreversible lurch to the right. Progressives need to unite behind a candidate - anyone the faintest pulse will do.
you can either a) reward them for moving left or b) punish them for moving right
You’re talking about the political will of a nation as you would training a puppy. It’s incredibly reductive and simply not how the overton window works.
If the republicans win the next several elections the democrats will move further to the right to try to steal votes off them. The republicans will have to move further to the right to differentiate themselves from the democrats.
Not surprisingly, the more republicans win elections the further right everything moves.
Your position is exactly where the conservatives would have you. They can’t win your vote so their best outcome is to convince you not to vote.
With votes that close there’s plenty of luck involved in other ways. The weather, tv schedule etcetera.
It’s definitely a problem, but it’s not preclusive.
The alternative is equally terrifying - just a third of voters being the majority in the brexit referendum is unconsciable.
