Thanks for the detailed breakdown, I think I get the broad strokes now.
It’s difficult to parse when your brain defaults to “one of these parties are unfairly maligned” - when the truth is they’re both shitty.
It’s a shame. Some years ago I got a lot of value from both websites, but haven’t really followed digital privacy trends lately. It’s such a time sink to gauge the value of everything by yourself.
I think I got confused by this Lemmy post claiming it was taken over, not “attempted”. If it was taken over, then why would they shoot themselves in the foot?
This is all really insane. But there are people here saying that privacyguides are reputable.
Privacytools seems shadier though, even if they’re claiming to be victims.
This is all too much drama.
Wait, I’m confused. Why would privacytools.io host this article?
privacytools.io doesn’t even list NordVPN as an ad anymore…
Is there another trustworthy site which compares different platforms?
Quick to call other people kids as an insult.

What’s everyone’s take on mewing?
It seems to make sense to me.
I’ve seen others say it’s bullshit.
I started doing it periodically a few weeks ago, and I just had an oral bone spur break through my gums from a tooth extraction I had over ten years ago.
So it makes me think the mewing changed something in my lower jaw enough for some fragments of bone to come loose and make their way out.
It’s interesting to me to think about the optics of posting memes like this.
On one hand, it’s funny, and 99% of the Lemmy community would vote for him over Trump.
On the other, if it was posted anywhere else I would be worried about the implication of scoring an own-goal.
I’m scared the election will be a close call, I really don’t know how good of an idea it is to clown on Biden (even though, as aforementioned, it’s funny, and shouldn’t convince anyone to vote for Trump).
Some were, some weren’t. He did have some senior moments, like claiming he wanted to beat medicare.
Twitter formatting sucks ass.

Just for the sake of being fair, Steam does do one thing which is anticompetitive; they require publishers don’t sell their games for less than they do on Steam.
If you think about this for a moment you’ll realise it’s in the publisher’s best interest to agree to this.
One of the problems Epic has is that it is only a store front. Steam is a fully featured platform.
Epic, in their lawsuit, wants to break Steam’s store and platform into separate applications, so they can compete.
Sort of like how people want to have different app stores on their iphones.
Difference is: Steam has no restrictions in the first place. You can add non-Steam games to the client if you want. You can use Proton if you want.
Steam offers all of these features for free. What is the point in breaking them apart.
Looks like Please, Don’t Touch Anything on steroids
It’s hilarious to me that Epic will never introduce features like this, and also complain Steam has a monopoly, as if they’re at all comparable
I don’t know how Christians eat the flesh and drink the blood and don’t think anything other than “I’m in a fucking cannibal cult”.
I don’t know how the Christians see this and think anything other than “this is some evil shit”.
“If it makes you feel any better, I considered the scenario in which you found the impetus for the name Maua. So a few weeks ago I Googled the name to find what else it means, and apparently it’s also a municipality in Brazil, pretty cool huh? Maybe we can take her there one day!”
