I love this book! it’s long but dense, it’s trashy but it’s also high art, it’s tragic but it’s also inspirational. I’m glad Dumas was paid by the word, because it means he wrote as much. You should check out the musketeers books if you haven’t already, I think Count is a stronger book but they’re all written in the same engrossing style.

it’s not really subjective, having a drm free download is like owning the thing, having it on steam is like borrowing it from someone fairly trustworthy, and having it on epic is like borrowing it from an asshole

you’re on a decentralised, federated social media website. why are you arguing that more centralisation is a good thing? the comparison you’re making is nonsense. you don’t need to download an app or sign up for an account to listen to music drm free or to play drm free copies of games. you download the thing at the point of purchase and then you own it and you can do whatever you want with it. and that includes launching it from steam, which I do with a lot of my drm free games

I bought a 3700x in 2021 and after 2 years of my computer randomly powering off (and replacing my PSU, ram and GPU in that order) I replaced the CPU and found that the problem was fixed. I sent the CPU back to AMD and they confirmed it was defective and issued a replacement. I haven’t had a random poweroff since.

1. almost every major political party in the UK has an anti-immigration stance, so they certainly do act like it’s an issue
2. despite media scaremongering about immigration, there’s no credible evidence that immigration in the UK has negative social or economic consequences overall
3. the lovely people behind reform UK previously campaigned for us to leave the EU in order to reduce immigration, and not only did it not reduce immigration but it was also a multi-year political shitshow (and it tanked the economy, and it pulled us out of the EU human rights convention, and it fucked up supply chains, and it decimated arts and science funding, etc etc)

to be honest I’m kind of amazed that UK voters would fall for the same obvious grift twice
