100% agree and I also despise devs who do this on windows, instead of using %appdata% they’re using c:\users\username\.myappisimportantandtotallydeservesthisdir

Who wants to buy a car with no stalks? Maybe BMW drivers, as anyway they don’t use the blinkers, but having the gear selector on a fucking touchscreen with no tactile feedback is dumb
Because Google decided to make it opt-in and by default also to send data only in crowded places.
They said it’s because they care about privacy. But because it’s Google and we all know they don’t care a bit about privacyI wonder instead if it’s because keeping track of billions of devices it’s expensive and requires many servers, so it’s a cost cutting measure
They’re also starting to offer a subscription only printer service in my country
<Insert here the “you were the chosen one” meme>
They wanted to let companies pay for a non standard 2fa code generation tied to the phone number as it was easier than the mainstream option that was the almost abandoned google authenticator that didn’t allow backups.
Cloudflare, humble bundle used that scheme and I hated them for that. Seems that now that plan failed and essentially now authy is a money-losing operation for twilio and this shows on the unsecured API access that allowed the hack
A very expensive test run
Imagine the face of the state sponsored attacker that ordered to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for this supply chain attack to happen and then it’s all wasted to send a few visitors to a porn site
wait they paid 325 millions in 2022 for Redbox???
Why???
How they thought they could have a return on that investment??!
But my company with 20k employees use it. It’s kind of interesting in our context
I wonder what we’re going to do. Don’t tell me that the reason that the MDM has installed MS teams on my work phone is related to this news…
Customer support at Google? Most you can get is a chat with a bot that doesn’t recognize your account because it has been deleted
It pisses me to no one end when i think to all the trash factories. Items designed to look good for e-commerce but they are poorly designed and unusable. Directly to the landfill…
So that’s incredibly stupid, lol if it crushes and cuts a carrot why couldn’t do it with a finger
Save a few thousands for incorporation fees also some bs experience that you can use to boast to vc investors
Oh no I saw a video where it chopped a carrot without stopping
I don’t have the courage to click the link….
I especially hate how it ruins the df -h
command. Install a dozen snaps and it becomes unreadable
For a vim user it’s going to cause panic.
Copy and paste suddenly become illogical keybindings like ctrl+c and ctrl+v
For closing the program you have to press a very weird X instead of the much more natural :wq
And so on
Hey it takes effort to make a WebView for mail.proton.com
They need to see how to package the dedicated browser for all the different distros and operating systems, make a nice icon and so ok. It takes hours
They should sell this masterpiece for much more
i placed the two screenshots side by side using the freeform app 😀
I used kubuntu for an year on an old ProBook and I just assumed that the trackpad buttons were broken and sent a double click.
I discovered this issue only today lol
I think it was windows 98 that introduced “hovering on an item” = single click and single click = double click. Disabled by default of course
Yes but then just spam the documents folder like anyone else, don’t hoard the home root for no reason except that is a lazy cross platform port
