More seriously, we don’t know. Only time will tell. Take-Two will definitely be looking at redundancies, so it might not be good for all employees. For the IPs, hopefully it can’t get much worse than sitting at Embracer while the company sinks like the Titanic. But Take Two has also had layoffs and shelved projects. One can only hope for the best.

There will be a lot of people facing problems like yours with actual family members living abroad, and others will face issues with sharing with friends abroad or friends that used to change often or paid sharing that changed often.
I am a cynic so I think it is mostly done to hinder paid sharing and sharing with friends and family abroad is collateral damage.
A second use is probably that child protection is now pushed away from Steam and more towards the parents. I think that was necessary because European countries and maybe others were putting Valve under pressure and they do not want to implement a real age verification (they should imho). Now they can just say: “Kids should not have free access to a PC to be able to make an account, parents need to do that for them and restrict access age appropriate, it is not our concern anymore!” I have my doubt that will be enough for the EU though, but might buy them time.
I think many people haven’t realized the downsides of this yet and only see where it benefits them. We will have complaints about the one year cooldown soon.

Den Zusammenhang gibt es im Englischen, auch wenn er selbst da, wie ich finde, zu dieser übertrieben Sprache gehört in dem alles ein Krieg ist “Handelskrieg”, “Anschlag auf den Weltmarkt”, “Eroberung neuer Absatzmärkte”, “das Produkt schlug eine wie eine Bombe”, “Blitzkrieg - Aktie erobert Wallstreet” … und das kann man als Politker (und auch als Journalist, die lieben so was ja auch) meiner Meinung nach gerne mal lassen.
Einfach nachplappern was Trump so von sich gibt und 1:1 zu übersetzen ist schon ziemlich dämlich zumal ja auch der dafür angegriffen wurde und bei dem weiß man, dass er mit Gewaltausübung im politischen Kontext kein Problem hat. Aber in der Union hat man halt seltsame Helden: Orban, Trump.
Im besten Fall war es eine schlechte populistische Überhöhung im schlechtesten ein Aufruf zur Gewalt und da man bei der Union inzwischen das eine vom anderen nicht mehr unterscheiden kann, mein Fazit: Selber schuld inzwischen so undemokratisch rüber zu kommen, dass jede und jeder erstmal an Gewalt denkt.
Ich bin allerdings auch der Meinung die FDP gehört nicht in die Regierung, abwählen reicht aber, Herr Mörseburg.
Wenn mir der freie Markt nützt ist er frei, wenn nicht, dann muss man natürlich eingreifen und nach Subventionen oder dem Gesetzgeber rufen. Die Dualität der freien Marktwirtschaft.

Nach dem “Gute-KiTa-Gesetz” dann das “Gute-Zwangsarbeit-Gesetz”. Ist gut, sieht man schon am Namen.
Früher haben Leute den Streikenden einen Kaffee spendiert, heute wird nur geschimpft. Das Wissen, dass jeder Streik die Arbeitnehmerschaft als Ganzes stärkt ist völlig verloren gegangen, weil sie alles tun um aus Arbeitnehmern Einzelkämpfer zu machen. Erst die völlig bescheuerte Trennung zwischen Angestellten und Arbeitern, dabei sind beides abhängig Beschäftigte, dann der Kampf gegen die Gewerkschaften und das Streikrecht.
Wenn die Lokführer bessere Arbeitsbedingungen und besseren Lohn erhalten, hilft das auch anderen Beschäftigten auf solchen Forderungen zu bestehen und genau deshalb will es die FDP verhindern. Freier Markt ist nur wenn es ihnen nutzt, ansonsten nicht.
Übrigens haben inzwischen sogar die meisten Gewerkschaften ihren Biss verloren und nicken nur ab was von oben kommt. Ich bin vor 40 Jahren in die Gewerkschaft eingetreten, da ging es noch anders zu. Heute argumentieren sogar Gewerkschaftsfunktionäre bei uns hier in der Stadtverwaltung mit “Aber die Kasse ist doch leer, wie soll das bezahlt werden” und “Wir müssen uns halt gütlich einigen in dem Rahmen der geht” (Originalzitate), macht einen wütend.
