Yes I am aware that Texas is full of morons that vote to hurt themselves. However, 5,890,347 votes were cast republican, and 5,259,126 were cast democrat. It’s not as deep red sea as you believe it to be.

Dihydrogen monoxide
I mean SCOTUS just made a ruling getting ready to make trump king of the US…
I wouldn’t put the US on such a pedestal
It’s quite funny how terrified of China Americans are.
I mean I’m from the UK but votes in Texas absolutely do matter, arguably more than most states. Get your shit together man, it’s not just a presidential issue, it’s the entire government and the supreme court appointment at stake.
A few of the dimwits I work with use china alot as a reason to not do anything about climate change because they keep building coal plants but… The coal plants they build are more efficient.
According to this chart the UK is doing well but we can still do better and we should keep doing more.
I mean it’s Lemmy, the place full of pedantics
UK has a higher population than Canada but had a lower rating on this scale. So that’s not strictly true.
While I agree the article should say, that is also obviously the case here
I like Spotify, and when I want to support and artist I buy their merch, or I go see them live (the amount of money they get from ticket sales depends on if it’s a live nation event or not).
I mean I develop software on an 8GB laptop. Most of the time it’s fine, when I need more I have a desktop with 128GB ram available.
Really depends what type of software you’re making. If you’re using python a few TB might be required.
I get around this by simply not buying a Mac. Free’s up so much money for ram.
This is resource reservation, it happens at an OS level. If chrome is using what appears to be alot of ram, it will be freed up once either the OS or another application requires it.
It just exists so that an application knows that if it needs that resource it can use X amount for now.
It’s still a computer at the end of the day, just use logic. It responds well to it, you remove it’s ability to be creative and tell it what you want to accomplish
People are just really bad at prompt engineering and so they aren’t good at getting LLM’s like gemeni and GPT to do what they want
You can train it, within conversations to get good at specific tasks. They’re very useful, you just gotta know how to talk to them
Xdefiant feels nice
I’ve found that the better I’ve gotten at writing prompts and giving enough information for it to not hallucinate, the better answers I get. It has to be treated as what it is, a calculator that can talk, make sure it has all of the information and it will find the answer.
One thing I have found to be super helpful with GPT4o is the ability to give it full API pages so it can update and familiarise it’s self with what it’s working with.
I use Ubuntu on my servers because it just… Works, out of the box I can run my scripts and have no issues 100% of the time. On desktops I used to use SolusOS for gaming as that was the only Linux OS at the time I could comfortably game on without many hiccups.
Yeah I don’t have any issues with you growing your own meat, I bet you take care of them. My issue is with industrial farming, not you.
I used to gut and skin animals my self to eat but I just don’t have to desire to do so anymore, I’m happy with plants.
So… That means don’t vote? I don’t understand what you’re trying to say to be honest
