Amazing news!
Yes! New amtrak train starts May 21st…
Theyre essentially taking one of the hiawatha trains & expanding it to minneapolis.
This new line will increase the daily frequency of trains to Minneapolis from 1 to 2.
This sounds like really good news!
Haha that sounds like the way to go!
Im in a similar situation being right next to the perimeter… was kind of excited for the week though (something to break up the daily monotony)
Sad news, but im excited to see what replaces it… hopefully something cool & exciting
The fact that such a building has to jump through so many hoops to be built is infuriating… glad that the rejection was successfully appealed.
Im really glad to see such thorough consideration placed on the removal options… they are my favorite out of the 9 & im glad that they are sorting out the biggest potential issue with them (the bridge)…
I do wonder, what percentage of bridge openings are for boats that arent edelweiss or mke boat line?
I ask because i wonder if the cheapest/most efficient solution would be to just fund the replacement of the companys’ current fleets (what is it, like 4 boats total between both companies) with newer boats that are shorter.
This is incredible! Ive been really impressed with the city’s safe street efforts & am glad to see momentum going this strong.
Interesting…
I have mixed feelings, but hope that they are successful in their efforts… it would suck to see it decay there for another 20 years while they struggle to find the appropriate funding.
Ngl, i legit think it sounds like a really fun & awesome snack!
It essentially gives all the pleasure of eating a well spiced dish without the calories… i could see it as the perfect snack for stoners.
Finally…
Black spruce seems like the irl version of an internet troll lol. Hopefully once the facility is razed, the saga will end
Woah! Very interesting!
Excited to see what comes of this action… hopefully it involves WisDOT looking into alternative transportation options.
Woah! Another venue… crazy how many music venues are being planned. Either milwaukee is vastly underserved, or there is about to be a lot of volatility in the local venue market.
Tbh, i dont go to many concerts, but pretty excited to see this proposal & hope it attracts artists who arent locked into live nation contracts. I just hope the venue is designed tastefully (aka not a giant parking garage with an undersized music venue sticking out the side)
This is so incredibly exciting!
This is very exciting! Excited to see how extensive the renovations will be (ex, will they be like walnut st with its grade separated buike lanes, or will it be like 6th st with jersey barriers/flexi posts)
That was quick…
I cant help but think how incredibly soul crushing it would be to commute all the way to chicago every day… even from the sturtevant station, its a full hour train ride (on-top of just getting to the station.)
Sucks for the people adversely affected though… that a rough surprise…
Very exciting news! Its been a really exciting past few days nationwide with all the rail corridor announcements & im excited that the wisconsin routes were also selected. I really like the approach of branching the hiawatha to green bay and madison… it should really make milwaukee a bit of a (regional) train hub
Looks really nice! Definitely a good amenity (even if it is a bit more autocentric than desired)
Maybe with its success, it could become a blueprint for other potential road to park conversions throughout the city.
This is incredible! Im really excited for that plaza next to Zocalo
