I’m an employee in the U.S., working for a large international shipping company with a yellow and red logo. We’ve been struggling to maintain profitability stateside since the COVID shipping boom ended. Shein and Temu are basically keeping the U.S. operation afloat making up a significant double digit percentage of our revenue currently.
We can’t compete domestically as our rates are sky high compared to brown and purple and we’ve become overly dependent on these Chinese retailers. I’d say this is a good signal to find a new gig.
Apparently, Harris is fond of “motherfucker.”
This…. ^motherfucker… former president.
Many of us who live in the U.S. feel the same way.
It’s called “The Handmaids Tale”.
They made it in book and TV show form. Minus the birth problems which kick off the societal change in that story, we’re quickly headed for it.
Annoyingly, many vehicles sold in the U.S. don’t have a tow rating except for large SUV’s and trucks. It makes it difficult to know if you can safely tow a trailer with your small crossover.
I owned a Honda HR-V a few years ago. In Europe, it was rated for around 1,500 lbs. In the U.S., they just slap “not recommended for towing” on it and tell you to buy something larger.
In what world should anyone be criticized for not being early enough? I agree if you’re not early, you’re late.
But for fucks sake, five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes, whatever… dude sounds like an asshole.
80m² = 860ft² for those of us in countries who perpetuate inferior measurement systems.
860ft² is extremely small compared to the average American home of 2,480ft².
This has been floating around the internet for some time.
The funny part is that heritage zoning is the reason the addition looks the way it does. The upper floor was inaccessible and stairs needed to be added. Local regulations state that any additions must be visually distinct from the original structure so this monstrosity was the result.
Look up Caldwell Tower in Scotland for more information.
As someone who has had to replace three car windows in six months,… yes! Fuck these lowlifes. They deserve a little of this.
“In fact, just don’t speak to me at all.”
Probably miniaturized versions of CIWS / C-RAM or laser systems.
I’ve owned a lot of different vehicles over the years.
1998 Ford Taurus, 2002 Ford Mustang, 2012 Honda Civic Coupe, 2016 Honda HRV, 2017 Yamaha FZ-09, 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata, …and finally… 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor
My two favorite vehicles out of that list are the Miata and the F-150. I’ve lived both lives and they’re not comparable.
The Miata was a blast to take out into the country and find a series of twisty corners while banging through gears with the top down. I do miss having the wind in my hair and no particular destination in mind.
The F-150 is great because I’m building a house and need to haul loads of lumber and plywood. It’s also fantastic because I can take it off road and camp in the bed on vacation, getting to places the Miata could never go. It’s also pretty fun to drive with a lot of power.
Admittedly, when you get spirited with the pedal, you can hear the echos and screams of dinosaurs as their remains are incinerated expeditiously by the twin-turbo V6. Not the most environmentally conscious thing I’ve owned, but I disagree that trucks aren’t fun.
The R2 is to be announced in a week or two. It is supposed to be a more reasonably priced platform.
Figured a picture would be appropriate…
I always loved construction equipment as a kid. I had a full set of die-cast Cat construction machines and would play with them in a sandbox my dad built.
Three months ago I bought a Kubota U27-4 mini-excavator. Needless to say, my inner 8 year old is thrilled.
Somehow I knew this would be Crossroads… that’s my city alright.
Nowhere in the article does it state Apple is claiming this is “innovation.” In fact, it discusses the EU regulations driving the change and the fact that Apple will roll out globally instead of using a different version of iOS in the EU.
Apple “Fanboys” aren’t as rabid as the internet likes to portray them and Android users aren’t morally superior. It’s a phone. Get over it.
