This sorta worked for me in my teens and early twenties, but not anymore. Now I get so out of whack from just one night up that I’m unable to concentrate on anything at all and just sit and scroll random websites the whole day without actually taking anything in, then I fall asleep at 9pm and sleep till 2pm the next day and feel like absolute shit the next couple of days.
My main problem with DDG is that it doesn’t show the dates of results. A lot of the time, I need to know that to get the information I need. I used it for a couple of years, but I was constantly forced to go back to Google or Bing to get the information I needed.
I found Kagi earlier this year and tried it out, and it’s as close to perfect as you can get, IMO. I really can’t recommend it enough. It’s like being back to “the before times” when Google was king, with the addition of many other features. It’s a paid service, and I’m more than happy to do so for something like this. No tracking, a ton of features, very well designed, and results that never fail. I’ve shared my account with family and friends, and everyone has mentioned how good it is after trying it.
Sorry if it feels like I’m a shill for it, I’m just super happy with it and really feel like everyone deserves to know about it.

All of lemmy seems to have slowed down massively. The “active” sort shows the same posts for days in a row, and the “hot” sort is now as slow as “active” was before (same posts for a couple of hours to a day at most).
It really seems like there are like 80% less active users than just a few weeks ago.

Same with the Scandinavian languages. You can mostly figure out what they’re talking about, but some words are just gibberish. I had two Danish girls try to hit on me at a bar here in Sweden many years ago, the only thing I understood was that they found me attractive because I look like Bob Dylan and they are fans of him. Danish is especially hard, IMO, even more so when it’s spoken by drunk people.

I use mega for all my cloud storage with auto syncing, and you can choose whatever folders you want to be synced. Free is 20 GB, and what I use is 2 TB of storage and 2 TB of monthly transfer for $10/month. They use use zero-knowledge encryption. Both visual and sound design is superb, which is expected from Villeneuve. Made a choice not to watch the third trailer or read anything else about part 2, the first two trailers were enough without “spoiling” too much.
Agreed that it’s pretty cool. The vast majority of on-stage demos like this are faked, but it’s not usually because they aren’t long enough into development that they just can’t do it any other way. And as long as what they show is what you get, which is the case here, I think it’s fine.
