I kinda wish I knew what it was like working on Y2K stuff. It sounds like the most mundane bug to fix, but the problem is that it was everywhere. Which I imagine made it pretty expensive 👀

This is 100% it for me
I freaked out when I looked at the scale after the holiday season, probably 10kg over what I consider my ideal. Cut beer entirely, 2 months later and I’ve dropped it all already 👀 I’m not really a big eater but alcohol packs so many calories
same here, I’ve played hundreds of hours of Odyssey but the 2d platformers I will barely make it through to the end credits. For a company that produces as many games as Nintendo I think it’s reasonable to consider the 2d and 3d mario platformers different series and hold them to independent expectations.
in any case though they’re definitely holding off odyssey 2 until the next console release at this point 🫤
I’ve had this in Japan, not sushi but at yakitori. Ended up in the hospital but it was fun to say I tried 😅 and surprisingly tasty too. Yakitori is my fave Japanese cuisine, I only eat the cooked stuff now though 🚶♂️
so how long does a raspberry vinaigrette take to make normally? I’m no chef but guessing significantly longer than 15 seconds
imagine if any tech company sold a service at a price that’s at least the cost to provide it, that would be outrageous
Mt Dew isn’t that bad but it’s the kind of drink I can only have once in a while, probably the sugar content makes me sick. Black tea on the other hand, I could drink all day, and is fairly tasty too
I think it might solve the problem that people often don’t remember if they created their account using SSO or with an email/password combo. So the site looks up your email to see what login method you use in order to redirect you to the proper prompt.
Funny I consider OW2 a better upgrade than CS2. But maybe because OW1 had a worse starting point. The game needed a total rebalancing and that was what OW2 was about. Yes it’s not something they needed a “new” game for but it still made the game 10x more fun for me. CS2 doesn’t seem like it’s provided any rebalancing at all, feels basically just like a visual update (which OW2 also had). As a super casual player that only played a couple hundred hours years ago, I can’t really tell the difference with the new engine (besides smoke mechanics) so the changes feel way less dramatic. But I’m definitely having fun revisiting CS. Also I can see why people would be more mad about OW2 monetization because CSGO has always farmed people for money whereas OW1 gave a ton of free skins. Now they kinda feel like they’re at the same level 🫤
I got a little weird about House once the main cast got half swapped out, but by the end I came to terms with it and I think the show actually ended pretty solid
I used to have Paramount Plus for Big Brother before I got tired of it, it’s good for that “reality” genre. Also nice to have a news channel which is not an offering on the larger streaming networks.
Other commenters hit on the reasoning, just adding that they’re called highly composite numbers. My favorite!
is that Paul from big brother? the guy who iirc got 2nd place twice? could definitely be a doppelganger but looks very much like him 🤔
Flashpoint is interesting, seems like a more streamlined version of Control. The maps are massive and will probably take some getting used to. I think it’s not as innovative as Push but I’ll have to see how it plays out over the course of the season, people are definitely still getting the hang of it.
Just curious, how does being in a Slack channel feel more like being controlled than being in an office?
I’ve always thought the same thing. I grew up playing a few sports and there was never room for toxicity, even the one or two times I played in a somewhat competitive league. Now I’m playing casual esports and I gg after every match, win or lose. I don’t really get why that’s hard for some people, and they have trouble focusing on the win condition.
It’s especially frustrating to see people give up in a 4v5 or something like that too. Like yeah it’s not going to be easy, but it’s not impossible. And when you end up coming out on top against the odds, you feel like a god, and you remember that match forever. I think people just want the high from winning without actually needing to try. It explains why there’s so many people who make smurf accounts too 😐
I donated ~9 times in college, til the one time I had a bad technician person and ended up with a significant subdermal hematoma in my arm. It was painless and resolved itself but freaked me out enough I didn’t want to do it anymore.
I’m at the same level and experiencing the same thing. I’m guessing since we just hit endgame it’s somewhat expected for the loot to slow down 🤷 Just gotta keep on grinding to higher levels and nightmare dungeon tiers and the upgrades will show here and there, just not as commonly as when leveling to 50.
The nonsense Windows pulls, of continuously reminding me to “finish setting up” my PC is the worst. It’s listed in the Hall of Shame on that site and I wholeheartedly agree with its position on there 😕 I think I’m going to stop opting for Windows upgrades entirely considering they’re putting 100% of their development efforts into monetizing, and absolutely nothing into improving the user experience at this point.
+1 if you can have automated checks do part of your reviews for you, it’s a win. I never comment about code style anymore, if I care enough I’ll build it into the lint config
