lol, nice weather. If you want to start sweating as soon as you step out the door and don’t mind not being able to insure your house due to storms.

It helps if you already have hummingbirds in the area. But yeah, I’ve gotten a handful of hummingbirds pretty used to hanging out around me, along with a few other species (I even had a spotted towhee eating from my hand before I had to move).

Set up a feeder for them along with flowers (the trumpet-shaped types so that they can fit their weirdo tongues in there), start watching them where they can see you, and there’s a pretty good chance you’ll get them to hang out and relax even with you right there. As much as a hummingbird ever relaxes. Then they might come right up to you when you’re wearing red or bright orange.

For songbirds, a suet feeder is pretty great for drawing them close.

I have never been so grateful to live in the PNW. We’re a bit of a hike from NC, but you’d be plenty safe here!

“Cascadia” has some unfortunate connotations in regards to white supremacy (especially in Oregon).

That’s a tough one because Tri-State can refer to different states. I’m guessing for you it’s New York, New Jersey, Connecticut?

Having grown up in South Jersey, that was also called the Tri-State area, but it referred to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York (sometimes Delaware instead of New York).

Things have been going really well for me lately.

He was very chill. I didn’t figure out that he was deaf until I realized the smoke detector going off bothered me a lot more than it bothered him.

No fireworks so far today, so we’re all happy here (though it is Saturday for us).

I miss my bunny, but one of the best things about him was that he was deaf. Never freaked out unless you sneaked up on him.

Hope your bunnies are happy to get out of the closet.

Well, being both a little sick and kind of depressed, I’ll probably throw out the salmon I was going to cook for dinner last night, or boil it and feed it to the dog. Then I’ll order food that I didn’t need and don’t want, then I will stay up too late while still being bored, and then I will finally go to sleep to do it all tomorrow, but with a different food to waste.

Maybe people should stop moving to the fucking desert.

When I wear a red or orange shirt and sit outside, hummingbirds tend to come check me out. I wouldn’t be too surprised if the same thing can happen with bees trying to figure out whether you’re full of delicious nectar.

Complete asshole almost always means yellow jacket.

I’m from the States as well but perhaps haven’t driven around enough of the right suburbs.
