Further to my report about leaving my old home. It’s a huge Queenslander and has been a chore to clean. Knowingly leaving a place in better condition than I find them is something I have done very often.

Well I popped in on my way home as the RE girl was there inspecting it as I passed. ( I’m currently house sitting right next door. ) Well she started showing me the “dirt”. There was an insect that must’ve got stuck on the white kitchen tiles, plus tiny bits of residue from the final mopping. Like tiny little specs. She then pointed to the bottom of two kitchen cupboards and once again, tiny specs of nothingness.

I said she was being a bit picky as it’s an old Queenslander and will be twice as dusty again tomorrow. Well she sent me a decent sized list of things to clean later.

Long story short I sent a lot of photos from when I moved in to show just how grim the place was back then. I also contacted the original rental girl that secured me the place initially. Sight unseen by the way, I have known her for years. She was unavailable for the inspection, even though she knew my leaving date three months ago.

I have basically asked for her to turn up and meet my “cleaner”, ( a dear friend that lives right across the road and has been a Godsend in helping me clean the whole place) I even said that after work I’ll happily meet the owners of the RE agent, ( I know them well also. ) the other RE girl and herself when I get home from work. I reiterated that I wasn’t angry ( I think I certainly was ), just baffled by it all.

Lots of the photos I sent show the place in a lot worse way than I found it. Heck she said she wanted the floors vacuumed and mopped. All the floors were well and truly vacuumed and mopped.

I messaged her also and told her I’ll get it sorted but that I’m blown away by her report. “Hair and excrement” in the two toilets was another. I took photos of the very clean toilets and sent them to the original RE girl. Damn the old toilet ( that was replaced a few months ago ) literally had black dirt or black stains in the bottom of it. Again that photo has been sent. Thing is there were heaps of photos taken and on file from when I moved in, I’m wondering if she bothered to look at them.

Grrrrrr. Rant over. Tis a strange world at times. Take many photos when you move into a rental guys. Oh, and have a lovely day.

Well that was a week from hell, or close enough. Moving out of a big Queenslander has been no fun at all. Saturday was one of the most annoying days I’ve had in a very long time with things breaking, breaking down ( me almost ) and just too many things going wrong.

But it’s all done, all my stuff is in two shipping containers now. So here I am at 4:15 waiting for the ferry to begin my journey to work. Here we go again. I hope everyone has stayed safe and happiness fills the air around you.

Haha. Oh I’m far from perfect. Been moving all week and I’m very tired. It’s been one hell of a gruelling time I can tell you. And y’know, at times one can react in a certain way, and that was my response.

Thanks Zag. Jesus I had a completely fucked day in so many ways, then I read about that poor girls misfortune. It made me realise that I’m ok in the big picture. As you’re aware I wasn’t trivialising anything. Some people just need to be a bit of a shit cunt I suppose.

Oh my goodness this is really awful and sad. I often wondered about the sheer amount of stress and mental anguish that must have haunted her. Poor girl.

Y’know I’ve had a really shit day finalising moving house, things have gone wrong and I got bloody angry earlier. But hey, I’ll be there again tomorrow carrying on because what happened to me today is damn trivial.
