  • If the hospital is a military base, it makes sense that supplies would be cut off to it.

There’s no way to escape the fact that war is terrible. But we do have things called the rules of war which brings the horrible nature of it down a couple notches. Driving around military forces under a red cross is a war crime, pure and simple, for exactly this reason - if a military force doesn’t have the honor to respect the sanctity of lifesaving medical care, then they’re going to make every medical center into a potential target for attack.

I am not a fan of everything Israel has done, but they’re clearly the better people in this scenario.

  • The 1948 war was started by Arabs who rejected the partition plan. Israel won that. Vae victis, don’t start wars if you’re not prepared to deal with the consequences.

You’re right that Israel has been stealing land - in the West Bank, via illegal settlements. They should withdraw those settlers, but it is irrelevant to the issue of Hamas because the last settlements in Gaza were demolished in 2005.

I’m not pro Israel. What I am is someone who is anti Hamas, and I’m not going to pretend that the Israelis are chuckling monsters who enjoy murdering babies for the fun of it.

  • Well, I would say as few as reasonably possible to eliminate Hamas.

If Israel was mass murdering people, this would be very, very different. We don’t know how many people have died, but we do know that Israel has been taking significant steps to avoid collateral damage, and we know that has been frustrated by war crimes perpetrated by Hamas (using ambulances as military transport, using hospitals as military bases, shooting civilians who try to leave the conflict zone) so I’m not sure what you want for me.

I want Israel to take reasonable actions to limit civilian casualties while they prosecute the war against Hamas which Hamas started and is continuing. I want that war to end immediately, but I recognize it can only reasonably end with either Hamas surrendering or Hamas being degraded past the point of it being a threat.
