  • I think you’re missing both the point of what I said and protest. Pride started out as a riot. No protest, no parade. Maybe you can protest protesters, and one day, there will be a chud pride parade. Dream big.

There are inherently more solutions in place to situations like that with public transit. They’re already in place, too. You just get off the train and hop on a bus. That’s not exactly a novel concept.

  • Pros and Cons of Bluesky:

    Pros:

    1. Tons of art and artists

    2. Lots of cool scientists and nature enthusiasts

    3. Lots of mutual aid, including directly to Palestinian families

    4. Some cool leftists

    5. Strong LGBTQ presence

    Cons:

    1. Tons of loud-mouthed chuds

    2. So much inescapable in-fighting

    3. Many things won’t make sense if you weren’t formerly on Twitter (I was not)

    4. Many people on there genuinely believe their own hype

    5. Just icky, toxic vibes that weren’t good for my mental health

    6. It’s extremely cliquey and exclusionary

    7. Adopting Twitter’s limited character post format makes people constantly try to punch back and one-up each other. If you like reading well-thought out, logical arguments, most of bsky is not the place for you. Lots of loud reaction.

    8. Platform itself is pretty ethically questionable. Consistently and unapologetically blocked and labeled accounts belonging to Palestinians as spam.

    9. Lots of racism and bigotry.

    10. One of my favorite people on there had to close her account because she was getting harassed in real life from dipshots on bsky. I think they even went into her wife’s work.
