The entire album is incredible, but I would say Videotape. Simply awesome. The syncopation is great even if I haven’t looked into it much. I honestly thought the repetiotnnof “in videotape” was weird but now its really grown on me. The entire album has really grown on me, my first listen I thought it was good but nothing special. Now its one of my favorite albums of all time. Kid A is still the best Radiohead album, though.
I would say Hollow Knight. Every new ability you get is from the environment, which changes the environment after you get it. One great example is that the room where you get the double jump is gusty, which disappears once you get the double jump. Those gusts then affect a different area, and any more would be semi-spoilers. Regardless, the whole game is wonderful, especially if you love Metroidvanias.
Something is a-bubbli-ihi-hi-hiing behind my back
I’m a Zoomer, and one of my best friends is very religious precisely because of the internet. He reads the Bible online a lot, and is in a bunch of Christian Discord servers, and often reads up theology. To be fair, he is very progressive on pretty much all issues except birth control, he isn’t a blind authority-obeyer, and is totally fine with me being agnostic.
Jeera rice with literally anything is my jam. Basmati is cool once in a while, but I just can’t get used to it.
I’m Indian, and pretty much anybody who comes over is Indian too, and almost every time we have someone over its like 30 minutes from first goodbye to actually leaving. I love it, but it can get annoying.
The town he was in, Pickaway County, Ohio, has several things named Hitler something or other. All of them are related to this guys family, not the other one.
If it was Weezer I would get it
Avatar: The Last Airbender x Fallout: New Vegas. Holy shit, that sounds so cool. Like a gritty, open-world game with awesome writing set in the Avatar universe. Actually sounds amazing.
The fact that I understand everything in this scares and comforts me at the same time.
What about Teddy Roosevelt? He started what would evetyallt become the FDA, regulated business far more than any who cane before him, and was a trust-buster. Not to mention his conservation policy or his negotiating skills in the Russo-Japanese war. The Square Deal was great and I love conservation, but his outspoken imperialism isn’t amazing, but I’d still rank him pretty highly.
I have a couple, completely unrelated ones.
alex lennen - Great channel on comic books, especially Marvel. Presenter is also really funny and full of energy.
BobbyBroccoli - If you’re at all interested in academia and science in general, check him out. Really nice information presented in a visually pleasing way.
lambdaxx - Super niche, but if you like the game EU4, he’s probably the best one to watch to really get better.
M. Laser History - Great channel on medieval European and Slavic history, with some forays into other periods. Great quality overall.
Tasting History - Cooking show with a history segment. Overall nice quality and you learn a lot.
The general reaction to this post being “Who’s Matpat?” is super interesting to me. And the comments saying that Tom Scott and Matpat aren’t old are also interesting since they follow the trend in Lemmy of the average age being a lot older than any other social network. I’m Gen Z and primarily consume content via a very Zoomer-heavy platform, YouTube, and the only other social network I have is Lemmy, which I’d say is very millennial-dominated. Which is why I stayed on Lemmy when I first got on here in June, since I liked the difference in opinion on the same topics on Lemmy and YouTube. Nothing related to the post, just something I’ve noticed for a while but never shared.
I’m not really sure what my biggest weakness is, but I’ll just say its my crippling fear of asking people for stuff. So now, either people ask me for things, or whatever I ask other people to do is immediately done? More confusing than a strength I’d say.
Pinkerton by Weezer. Its my favorite album of all time. It also introduced to a while bunch of other great albums, namely American Football’s first album and Kid A by Radiohead. And El Scorcho is an absolute banger.
